A Greek-owned tanker bound for India, carrying crude oil from Saudi Arabia, recently exited the Persian Gulf through the Strait of Hormuz, LSEG ship tracking data showed. The tanker Marathi began transmitting its position off the coast of India on March 26, after its last reported position in the Gulf was on March 2. The ship was last spotted off the west coast of India on Monday, according to LSEG data. It is the third loaded crude tanker operated by Greek company Dynacom to escape the Gulf since the war began. Dynacom is one of the few shipowners willing to risk the passage, where dangers from Iran include potential land mines, missiles, and drones. The Greek companies making the voyage have used tactics such as disabling AIS tracking systems and sailing at night to reduce their visibility. Two Indian-flagged liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tankers crossed the canal on Saturday, following two others that have exited in recent days, carrying critical LPG supplies to India.

IMPORTANT: Dear @nitin_gadkari ji and @pinarayivijayan ji: great to see a major national highway like NH 66 being constructed as a 6 lane along the west coast right through Kerala.. BUT the under construction highway is a MAJOR road safety hazard. Vehicles are coming from wrong side, there is construction rubble strewn around, no clear dividers or signs . We need a crack highway police to monitor traffic and ensure construction safety protocols are followed . We had a near collision yesterday with a car coming from the wrong side. 23 lives have been lost in the Kerala stretch in the last decade as per an LS answer. This is true of highway safety in other parts of the country too. Highways are a big step forward in connectivity but they can’t be allowed to become death traps because of lax traffic management norms. (Note: roughly 5–5.5 lakh people have died on India’s national highways alone over the past decade) 🙏 #HighwaySafety
