Call me crazy but personally I'd rather you weren't hauling 80 year old veterans into court on cases they were already cleared of.

The Defence Readiness Bill… isn’t ready. Shock. Due to be ready in “early-2026” it now won’t be ready until mid-2027 at the earliest and won’t be scheduled in the King’s Speech later this month. Cue the inevitable response that the MOD is working “flat out™” and “at pace™” This was Recommendation 28 of the Strategic Defence Review. Labour pledged to deliver all 62 but these are now slipping to the right and missing their delivery dates. Coupled with the nine-month delay to the Defence Investment Plan it illustrates that despite talking a good game on defence this Government is simply not delivering; Industry is paralysed, our armed forces are simultaneously underprepared and overstretched in readiness for current threats and we’re now in the bottom-third of NATO for defence spending. By the time this Government has finished we are in danger of being left militarily irrelevant.

@AirPowerHistory Did Hogarth make any progress with #warintheair? The CID sought to replace him with Baring, Lawrence, Groves or others in 1924 because of his lack of progress since appointment in 1922. No mention of #warintheair in his obits and biographies, or his papers at @MagdLibAndArch.

The UKs Defence Review, due in a few hours, will offer "announceables"- the hideous term that refers to spin.
Instead of another review, HMG could have simply cut all existing bureaucracy in favour of a lean, 21st century approach. The savings could be used for munitions.
