Friends, Scalpers, lend me your ears. My timeline is full of widespread discouragement and frustration. So many people are looking for upliftment and support, and don't really know where to turn. This is your Saturday check-in and morale boost. Please read through the end, and share it if you feel so inclined. Life is heavy. I get it. Our struggles – whether emotional, spiritual, physical, social, professional, or familial – can be overwhelming. We work ourselves to death to provide for our families, keep them together, and keep the peace at home. We fight addictions, and disruptive behaviors in ourselves and others. We deal with illnesses – some visible, and others that we try to keep hidden in the darkest corners of our minds. We try to be the very best that we can possibly be, and we're brutally hard on ourselves when we fall short. Likewise, each of us has been let down. Taken for granted. Betrayed. The hurt is no less painful whether it comes from a stranger or a loved one. If we're lucky, we have people who listen and understand. But in some cases we have no one to turn to, while other battles we never share. I can tell you that even some of the most optimistic, positive people you'll ever meet live with permanent, profound sadness that no amount of empathy can relieve. Carrying these burdens is a burden unto itself, and the loads only get heavier. Societal problems and world events only aggravate the battles we each face. There is real heartbreak felt in watching your community change against your will at the hands of politicians and people who should never be here in the first place. And there is seething anger in watching your beloved country spiral due to the actions of wicked, conniving, self-enriching men. And it's accelerating. We all feel it. There is a deep, urgent feeling that something big is coming. Something existential and paradigm-changing. We continue to prepare however we can while defeatedly recognizing that, as individuals, we can only do so much. But there's hope. There is always hope. Whatever the source of your anguish, you have been prepared for this moment. You are the product of countless generations. You carry the genetic data, experiences, and cumulative knowledge of the ancestors who came before you. You carry their successes and their triumphs, and the wisdom gained through their failures. They suffered through their trials not only for themselves, not only to survive and succeed, but for you. You are their reason. You are their legacy. They're proud of you. They love you. They walk with you every single day. You are the child of a loving God; a Father in Heaven who knows you by name because He created you in His image. He knows your challenges. Some of them He assigned to you for your learning and your betterment. Other trials occur naturally, but He allows you to face them for the same reason. He even allows the actions of others to disrupt your path because He will never take away their agency or yours. Why are you here? Why now? You could have been born at any time, in any place, amidst any terrible circumstance throughout the history of mankind. But you weren't. You were preserved to come into this world at the most consequential time in history, and you have a significant role to play. Do not let this world break you. You have meaning. You have worth. You are the difference in someone's life. You are their "why." No matter how painful the past has been, nor how bleak the present and future may seem, never turn your back on the opportunity you've been given. Guard your spirit and your mind. Never, ever give up. Now is the time. This is the place. We are the ones. You were born for such a time as this.
