Declassified revealed that the man seen in a video threatening Al Jazeera journalists in London is Special Constable David Soffer of the Metropolitan Police. The footage shows Soffer approaching one of the Palestinian journalists directly, calling him a “dog” and a “donkey” in Arabic, and saying, “Go back to Qatar… get out of here.” After his identity was revealed, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated that they are aware an off-duty officer was involved in the incident, which has been referred to the Department of Professional Standards for review. Soffer may face disciplinary action and has removed his police role from his LinkedIn account.

The US, Israel, and (Milei's far-right) Argentina have stood alone in voting against a UN resolution condemning the enslavement of Africans.  The UN voted overwhelmingly to declare the enslavement of Africans by Europe and the US as "the gravest crime against humanity by reason of the definitive break in world history, scale, duration, systemic nature, brutality and enduring consequences that continue to structure the lives of all people through racialized regimes of labour, property and capital," and to call for reparations, remedies, and redress.  The US representative, speaking on the record, denied the right to reparations and derisively referred to the subject of the resolution (slavery) as a "narrow, specific interest and agenda" that the UN should not address.

Iranian official tells me that Iran submitted its proposed terms and conditions for ending the war via intermediaries. The U.S. has not responded. Trump keeps falsely claiming Iran is begging the U.S. but it is Trump’s emissaries who have repeatedly been asking for talks.
