This is actually not funny when you consider that one country recently extradited its own former leader to that joke of a court in The Hague, where former Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte is now on trial for alleged crimes against humanity, specifically for his government’s alleged killing of drug dealers without trial. Leaving aside the obvious double standard, where leaders from democracies like Duterte are targeted while dictators go untouched, there was, until recently, no scenario in which the United States would ever send one of its own to The Hague. Even Democrats understood that opening that door, however slightly, was a line you never cross. Yet I am not so sure that assumption still holds, given how many have had their brains eaten by Trump derangement syndrome.

Donald Trump will be the first United States President to be tried at the Hague for crimes against humanity.

@amanpour Definition of War Crime In 2026: "Whatever Trump does to defeat Iran" Here's when Bill Clinton bombed Serbian "infrastructure" in 1999: And when Bush 43 did to Iraq in 2003 No one ever said "war crime" back then. Ever.

War crimes? Senator Merkley from Oregon said that taking out mixed use infrastructure like bridges and power plants would be war crimes and suggested as well that soldiers in the US Army need not follow orders such as that. The Iranians have sent hundreds of missiles targeted at civilian centers in Tel Aviv and throughout Israel as well as towards hotels, plants and airports of UAE and other countries. The civilians are not collateral damage — they are the primary target of hundreds and missiles and drones. And they massacred tens of thousands of their own people — just machine gunned them down. By rulers who have no legitimacy whatsoever. So where is his outrage at the real war crimes? Where is the urgency at stopping Iran from these illegal attacks and mass executions? Where are his threats of action to right these wrongs? We know where they are — no where because he is too busy attacking his own country.

If NATO is gone, Argentina is definitely invading to retake the Falkland Islands. With Chagos, Starmer completely torched the deterrence Thatcher built with the last war. And Milei could easily take it. Britain can’t do anything. No ships. Now all of LATAM now recognizes Malvinas as Argentina’s. With them also becoming one of America’s most loyal ally, chances are high the U.S. stays out and lets it happen

A short🧵for those insisting on a fiction: the Strait of Hormuz is not Iran’s sovereign toll gate, private cash machine, or maritime revenue stream. It is an international strait used by the world. Geography may give Iran a coastline on one side of it. It does not give Iran the right to invoice the rest of the planet for passage.

All the way into July 2024 Gupta was defending Biden as “quite robust” and “high functioning." Tellingly in this clip, immediately after glazing Biden, he goes after Trump, even though he wasn’t even asked about Trump. What a hack.

So let me get this straight, I go to the grocery store and buy … a pound of sliced turkey in a plastic bag, a loaf of bread in a plastic bag, a gallon of milk in a plastic jug, a pack of napkins in plastic wrap, a store-made salad in a plastic tub, a plastic bottle of mustard and ketchup, but they won't give me a plastic bag to carry it home because the plastic bag is bad for the environment? 🙄😂

🧵You think Canada can build a 1,000 km / $90 billion high-speed rail project in one of our most densely populated regions? Want to see just how complicated it is to build anything in this country, and what monumental government failure looks like? The Lac Mégantic tragedy was the deadliest railway accident in Canadian history.  This terrible tragedy occurred almost 13 years ago, and cost the lives of 47 people. The recommendation that came out of the investigation was to build a 12.5 km rail bypass that to relocate the railway track away from downtown Lac-Mégantic. Sounds reasonable and easy enough. Wrong! Only 12.5 km of new rail, but construction still hasn't started. 1/

Now do gross debt comparisons per capita. Net debt calculations are total BS. In what world would it make sense to net out a liability that the government owes to Canadians such as the CPP as an asset to net out against government debt? Also are you incorporating all provincial debt and not just Federal as they do in the US? Get real!

From a multi‑decade viewpoint, CAD/USD has been in a persistent secular downtrend since the early 2000s. Each major cyclical rally has produced lower highs, while major sell‑offs have carved out progressively weaker bases. The lack of participation with the latest oil supply crisis is telling me a lot. CAD going lower. Watch for it to hit 0.65 under Carney, and watch Canadians blame Trump when in fact our own policies are to blame.

Claim: “Under that agreement, Iran surrendered 97% of its enriched uranium, retaining a small amount of low-enriched material;” Facts: Under the agreement, international policy opposing enrichment was reversed; a permanent enrichment capacity was enshrined; and a pathway to advanced centrifuge production and all-the-way-to-weapons-grade uranium enrichment was legalized. Claim: “D/Ced 13k advanced centerfuges and a heavy-water reactor;” Facts: JCPOA legalized advanced centrifuge R&D. Also, while Arak was disabled, an official later revealed the regime hid spare tubes to later restore it. Claim: “and submitted to intrusive inspections.” Facts: No access to military sites or SPND sites. No verification of section T to prevent weaponization activity. Claim: “They're program was enfeebled and frozen.” Facts: Their program was on a legalized pathway to industrial size at any level of enrichment with the most advanced centrifuges. Claim: “When Trump ripped up the agreement, they resumed enriching uranium to much closer to weapon grade.” Facts: The regime did not exceed JCPOA limits until more than a year after Trump exited and at that point enrichment was kept to low levels. Higher levels of enrichment did not begin until the Biden transition and then presidency in 2021. Claim: “Maybe a little forethought would have been a good thing???” Facts: Maybe the JCPOA was a disaster???
David Axelrod@davidaxelrod

The @POTUS says he ripped up the 2015 Iran nuclear agreement "without much thought." That much is true. Under that agreement, Iran surrendered 97% of its enriched uranium, retaining a small amount of low-enriched material; D/Ced 13k advanced centerfuges and a heavy-water reactor; and submitted to intrusive inspections. They're program was enfeebled and frozen. When Trump ripped up the agreement, they resumed enriching uranium to much closer to weapon grade. Maybe a little forethought would have been a good thing???

In Iran—especially in Shia Islam—the 40th day after death (Chehelom) is sacred. It's when families and communities gather for major memorials to honor the deceased. We're now approaching that 40th day since Ali Khamenei's assassination... and the regime still hasn't buried him. Khamenei has not received any of the Shia burial rituals. If his 40th day gets skipped as well, he will die like an unnamed traitor—which is exactly how the majority of Iranians see him. This isn't incompetence. It's pure fear. To the regime's inner circle, he was almost divine. For their leaders to skip his funeral would be an unforgivable disgrace. But they're too terrified to show their faces in public—least of all at a massive open funeral, and they would definitely want a grand one that eventually results in building a mausoleum like they did for Khomeini. But they can't do this now. The scale of the explosion left barely any remains. A public ceremony would be utterly demoralizing. If Khamenei isn't buried even after 40 days, it will be the ultimate humiliating display of weakness for the Islamic Republic. The regime is crumbling in plain sight. #IranRevolution2026#KingRezaPahlavi
