今日カリフォルニアの友人と話してたんだけど、「最近のツイッター見てる？アメリカ人たちが本場のBBQをどんどん紹介してくれて、どれも本当にすごいし感謝しかない」って伝えたら「感謝するのはアメリカの方だよ。アメリカのBBQってホストであるその家の父ちゃんが主役で、前日から準備をする一大イベントなのね。父ちゃんの名誉をかけた“渾身の作品”を提供するイベント。だけどゲストは家族、親族、友人、近所の人、後は仲のよい同僚くらいでだいたいいつも同じメンツなのね。なので基本的には初対面やそれに近い人は呼ばないからいつも似たような人たちが集まるんだよね。でも父ちゃんに取っては魂を込めた自分の“作品”だから、やはりもっと色々な人に見て欲しいって欲求はあるんだよ。で、今回アメリカ人が日本人に自身のBBQを見せたら大勢の日本人からポジティブな反応が届いたわけじゃん？もうこの流れに乗らない父ちゃんはいないよ。「俺の作品も見てくれ！」ってどんどん押し寄せて、日本人はその全てに惜しみない賞賛を浴びせてくれる。こんな幸せなことはないよ。明日から週末だね。月曜日には更に力の入ったBBQ画像がツイッターに溢れるんじゃないかな？」とのことで、BBQ Daddies可愛すぎでは🥺

@Semi_cleanwater They’re easy to raise in our environment. In southern Louisiana after harvest, farmers flood the fields and add crawfish which breed as they eat the old crops and replenish the soil, and then they harvest the crawfish, and plant more. When cooked well they’re amazing.

@datekai444 @saws_skmdrt Very spicy and salty. Some people add in sausages, onions, garlic and other vegetables. I’ve never tasted anything similar.

@MrWHOsecond2 While I agree to not impose faith on anyone. Personally, I have to look to those who followed the faith as Jesus taught directly. If I look back in history, and study the earliest Christians, the pillars of Catholicism are visable. Not just Roman - Catholicism as a whole.

I knew a young man who had 2 women who were deeply interested in him—both church-goers and pretty; one was a virgin, the other a single mom. After much counsel and prayer, he married the single mom. He saw more godly character in her and too much vanity and pride in the other.

@zuck_elon @Cath0licP0dcast Catholics don’t pray TO the departed. We ask for prayers FROM those we believe have received into ever lasting life. As revelation8:3-4. “…The prayers of all saints…”. I agree as well one mediator. Saints, angels, living prayers only are answered by God. We may simply ask.

Of course Jesus prayed. The Son, in His humanity, modeled perfect dependence on the Father. And yes — 1 Timothy 2:1 calls us to pray and intercede for one another. But that verse is about living believers praying for living believers. The issue isn’t whether Christians should intercede. We should. The issue is whether Scripture teaches us to pray to departed believers. The Holy Spirit indwells every true Christian (Romans 8:9). Through Christ we have direct access to the Father (Hebrews 4:16; Ephesians 2:18). 1 Timothy 2:5 says there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. So yes — pray for one another. But our access to God is not dependent on additional heavenly intermediaries. The Spirit inside us doesn’t make prayer unnecessary — it makes direct prayer possible.

I’m a Catholic. I speak to God the Father directly, through the Son, by the Holy Spirit. I also ask other members of Christ’s Body to pray for me. I ask my neighbor to pray for me even though she isn’t omnipresent or omniscient. And I ask the saints in heaven to pray for me even though they aren’t omnipresent or omniscient either. Because death doesn’t break the Body of Christ. The saints aren’t less alive than my neighbor next door. They’re more alive. Christ said God is “not the God of the dead, but of the living.” So yes, I pray directly to God. And I also believe the Church includes believers in heaven who can pray for us too.

I am a low-church Prot. I speak to God the Father directly, by the Spirit, in His Son’s name. I don’t ask my Grandmother in heaven to ask Jesus for things because she is not omnipresent or omniscient. I do ask my neighbour to pray for me because she’s just next door and she knows how much I need xyz.

The child in Revelation is caught up to heaven and his throne before she fled. She then flees for a very specific amount of time. And when the times she flees and the time she is persecuted, they add up to 7 years, which mirrors Daniel 9:27, Dan 12 Mary and Joseph fled after Jesus birth but he had not ascended to heaven yet. Nor does the Bible specify how long they lived in Egypt. Also after that there is no period of time that Mary was persecuted. The first clear, surviving identification of the woman as Mary does not appear until St. Quodvultdeus in approximately 430 A.D., or a maybe a vague reference by Epiphanius of Salamis around 403 A.D All of the earliest church fathers thought of the woman as the church.(Which I also disagree with but it's a respectable position at least)
