Hundreds of millions of people throughout the world are immersed in extreme poverty. Yet, disproportionate wealth remains in the hands of a few. It is an unjust scenario, in the face of which we cannot fail to question ourselves and commit to change things. There is no lack of resources at the root of disparities, but the need to address solvable problems related to a more equitable distribution of wealth, to be achieved with moral sense and honesty.

Jesus didn't call for physical violence in Matthew 10:34. The “sword” is a metaphor for painful division, not a weapon. When He immediately explains: “I have come to set a man against his father...”. He is not saying to slaughter your family. He is saying families will split over loyalty to Him. He rebuked Peter for drawing a sword (“all who take the sword will perish by it”) and commanded “love your enemies.” This passage was just before Jesus sent the disciples on a mission to minister. It warns of the cost of discipleship.

The comments are citing the Crusades, which the Christians lost, and the Old Testament.
The Son of Man fulfilled the Old Testament. Jesus met those terms. Christians abide by the New and Everlasting testament where throughout His ministry, Jesus consistently emphasized peace.

@TRHLofficial Jesus himself abandoned peace when he was cleansing the temples and confronting the pharisees. Matthew 10:38 and Revelations 19:11 neither of which sound very peaceful.

@HoldenCCole No he founded the Church. Both Orthodox and Catholic can trace their line back to Christ. Orthodox church has changed less than the Catholic church. Actually the Catholic church has changed substantially since Vatican 2.

@JendersII He is a hypocrite. Hiding behind walls protected by armed forces and very strict citizenship which is then taken away from when you no longer work there. There is also penalties for illegal entry. Maybe he should lead by example before having an opinion he doesn't believe.

@WorldVideo49043 You mean without Orthodox and Catholic. If you believe it was solely Catholic then you don't know church history. Orthodox can trace its line directly to the first church of Christ much like Catholics can. Both played a major role in the Bible.

@Alien9950 @Pontifex It's easy to pick and choose Bible verses to twist and contort any message one wishes to find. This is why the Pope is the interpreter of the Bible for Catholics, as a guide.
Whether you wish to believe him or not, I promise you he has spent his entire life studying the Bible.

If you're Catholic, he is your supreme teacher of the doctrine, a direct interpreter of the word of God. Are you choosing schism with the church?
