A short thread on a topical subject 🧵 There is, and ought to be, a stigma around miscegenation—which, in a Christian context, is narrowed to interracial marriage. In his 1939 encyclical on the Unity of Human Society, Pope Pius XII taught that it is “legitimate” to treat the differences of nations as “a sacred inheritance” which can be “guard[ed] at all costs”. This same governing principle can be applied to the genus of the nation, the race. In fact, only two years earlier, Pope Pius XI taught that race is a “fundamental human value of the human community” which has a “necessary and honorable” function in temporal affairs.

A lot of people paddling antisemitism are QTing this saying they don’t know any catholic who espouses antisemitism. Saying this on twitter mean you are either deranged to the extent you should probably not be allowed in society or you’re intentionally dishonest.
U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops@USCCB

Catholics are called to reject antisemitism and the lies and conspiracies that fuel it, and to stand clearly against hatred and violence directed toward our Jewish brothers and sisters. To defend religious freedom with integrity, we must also reject antisemitism. @ArchbishpSample @archdpdx Watch the full video at: ow.ly/sYF550Yw6cA

Abstracting from the Holocaust mythology, insinuating the Church lost a “sense of her universality” is blasphemy, objectively. The Church has always welcomed sincere Jewish converts into her fold, with open arms. She has simultaneously acknowledged the unique danger they pose to the Church, should they be insincere.

@Katolikos83 @YardenJZ @AmericanReform_ The decision in Vatican II to eliminate the anti-Semitism that had become normalized within the church was not only a response to the consequences it had during the Holocaust, but also to seek to recover that sense of universality that had been gradually lost.

As for my view on the Protocols and their authenticity, I make a distinction between their instructive value and the latter. In this regard, I take the view of the late Msgr. Ernest Jouin (see below), made apostolic protonotary by Pope Pius XI. Full essay: open.substack.com/pub/americanre… I do not have the requisite evidence to say, with certitude, they are authentic, however many reputable men have believed this. That said, what is described in them is a grand Jewish conspiracy motivated by Talmudic hatred and carnality, to rule over all the nations, ushering in the kingdom of Antichrist. This is a verifiable phenomenon, easily seen today, and flows from Catholic eschatology.

“And to you, the small handful of Jews, the ‘wise men of Zion’, who, hidden by God's permission, to test the faithful and virtuous, have consciously caused so many misfortunes and are preparing even more, I turn with a question: What will come of this? Even supposing that the foretold moments of the Antichrist's reign are near, that you prepare the way for him, let each of you ask yourself: What will come of this?...” - Fr. Maximillian Kolbe

So last night I finally sat down and read the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. As you likely know, it is supposed to be meeting minutes of a secret cabal of evil, world-conquering and powerful Jews. But it is actually merely an infamous late 19th Century forgery created by the Tsarist authorities in Russia (and yes, they’ve been doing information warfare by villainizing Jews since back then). It’s been popular since then, and translated into every language. In the US, Henry Ford was obsessed with it, and suggested it to his employees. It’s long been one of the most popular books in Arabic, of course. In Germany, we know what they did with it. But reading through it last night, I was struck by two things, both related: (1) how much online discourse is merely just copypasta Protocols, down to memes like “Goyim are Cattle” and the limitless, cartoonish alleged bloodlust of Jews and Israelis. And (2) how obviously, ridiculously fake it is. Protocols is not even an IQ test—if you have any blood pumping to your brain, you should not be fooled by it. Even so, that millions of people have allowed their mental faculties to be put to one side like this is a vivid example of what a totalizing mind virus Jew-hatred is. *This is the cover of a 1934 American printing. And needless to say, “possession of these documents in Soviet Russia” was NOT punishable by “immediate death.” But these guys knew—long before the social media age—that you can just make shit up.

@Michael_J_Matt Stop vilifying the Germans. It’s not 1962. Their problems, then, are our problems, now. At least they had the honesty to name the enemy, let alone the wherewithal to combat Jewry and their designs.

One thing about this that's kinda fun -- we get to experience exactly what it was like for the German people who were arrested in the middle night because of snitching neighbors who also read the Bible and said their prayers every night. The neighbors called the Gestapo, yeah, but they were just trying to make Germany great again! Think it’ll never come to that here in America? That’s what the Germans thought, too.

@YardenJZ It’s not merely rabbinical and Talmudic Judaism, which is the essential evil and problem, but a comprehensive (Catholic) critique has political, racial and social implications. How are you guys planning to get around this? Ignore everything up until 1965?

@YardenJZ Up until 1965, was the Church anti-Zionist, opposed to religious Judaism and in opposition to the “chosen-ness” of the Jews? The three main tenets of your program are soft Zionism, philosemitism and the Jews still being chosen.

“It is striking to observe how the unique merit and role of the Third Reich and its leader in the victory against the communists in Spain are practically unacknowledged by those who, directly or indirectly, benefited from that victory. If one absolutely must speak of it, it will be to speak ill and even to calumniate.” - Mr. Pierre Moreau Read the rest here: open.substack.com/pub/americanre…

“Dear Führer, at the moment when the German armies, under your command, are bringing the greatest battle in history to a victorious conclusion, I wish to express to you my admiration and my enthusiasm, as do those of my people who observe with profound emotion the glorious course of a struggle which they consider as their own, and which gives concrete form to the hopes that were already ablaze in Spain when your soldiers were at our side against enemies who, though masked, were the same ones.” - Gen. Francisco Franco

10 years since Trump destroyed neoconservatism: * The U.S. is at war with Iran on the basis of fake WMD's * Record military spending * Israel less restrained than ever * Iraq War cheerleader Mark Levin anointed the true voice of MAGA * The most neocon candidate of the 2016 Republican field is now favoured to be Trump’s successor

Actions speak louder than words. It is a mockery of Catholics, not respect, to invoke St. Joseph while the Trump Administration, as such, is commited to the following grave evils, all of which St. Joseph would deplore: • Equating all religions before the State, making no distinction between true and false ones, even granting them equal rights in law as an ideal • Abortion, with some exceptions (Trump and Vance support mifepristone) • IVF • Contraception • Sodomy and “gay marriage” • Divorce and State sanction of adultery • Legalized pornography • Legalized transvestitism (perhaps with an exception for minors?) • Usury and unfettered capitalism • Secular (godless) education • Feminism

@FeserEdward Dr. Feser, you are only enabling an equivocation. Distinguish between good and bad antisemitism.
American Reform@AmericanReform_

@michaeljknowles, something for your consideration: The true, Catholic definition of “antisemitism” is narrowly confined to hatred of Jews as a race—nothing more—and does not admit of anything broader. This was established in the 1928 Holy Office condemnation of Amici Israel, an ecumenical group who had proposed removing the Good Friday prayer for the faithless Jews in the sacred liturgy. Cd. Merry del Val, head of the Holy Office, commented the following on the proposed change, “This report put forward by the so-called Amici Israel strikes me as completely unacceptable, indeed even rash. We are dealing with ancient prayers and rites of the liturgy of the Church, a liturgy inspired and consecrated for centuries that includes condemnation of the rebellion and betrayal perpetrated by the chosen people who were at once unfaithful and deicide.... I would hope that these Amici Israel would not fall into a trap laid by the Jews themselves, who insinuate themselves throughout modern society and seek with whatever means to minimize the memory of their history and take advantage of the good will of Christians.” Returning to the actual ruling from the Holy Office, after identifying the Jewish people as once chosen, who suffer “continual blindness” after the coming of Christ, the text reads, “Because it [the Catholic Church] reproves all hatreds and animosities between peoples, it condemns without reservation hatred against the people once chosen by God, a hatred that today is commonly called ‘anti-Semitism’”. This hatred of Jews, justly condemned by the Holy Office and opposed to basic Christian charity, was branded as “antisemitism”. It is a narrow and clear error. However, the common definition in the public mind, and certainly the definition of the Jews, is something substantially different—in fact it is much, much broader. Fr. Denis Fahey, an Irish priest and Holy Ghost father, identified this departure in his 1953 book, bearing an imprimatur, The Kingship of Christ and the Conversion of the Jewish Nation, saying, “What is meant by the term [antisemitism]? It means hatred of the Jews as a race. The Jews, however, use the word to designate any form of opposition to themselves, and they strive persistently to associate irrationality and want of balance with the term. They evidently want the world to believe that anyone who opposes Jewish pretensions is more or less mentally deranged. Now, first of all, it must be remarked that the term is too wide and too loose. The Arabs are doubtless Semites. Yet the Arabs in Palestine, on account of their opposition to Jewish domination, are Anti-Semites.” Finally, the idea of a grand Jewish conspiracy against the Catholic Church as somehow baseless, even “antisemitic” as the essay implies, is, frankly, preposterous. Cursory examination of the theological data bears out an enmity between the Church and Synagogue, from the very beginning. The fathers, the medievals and modern Catholic authors attested to the same. As Catholics, we must be on guard against the naturalistic and anti-christic tendencies, spirit and designs of the Jews, Talmudists or otherwise. Christ tells us we must love our enemies—especially the Jews—and not to maintain they do not exist nor that they, objectively, are seeking to overthrow Divine order and the Mystical Body.

Antisemitism is morally repulsive and irrational, and so common now that it merits this condemnation. But the widespread dehumanization of the Palestinians is no less morally repulsive and irrational. And Israel’s appalling excesses in Gaza give aid and comfort to antisemitism.

The entire modern, liberal order is built on these equivocations, designed to conflate legitimate, well-reasoned views with irrational hatred. Racism, Nazism, sexism, homophobia, Islamophobia, etc. That, coupled with the abandonment of a profoundly Christian concept, namely sin, and man is left to invent his own “morality”.
