You know what I think is broken That children of working parents have to pay for holiday club, breakfast club and after school club, in order to be able to keep working when children are off school etc But the children of parents who don’t work, get those things for free even though they don’t need them because they’re home and can look after their children These ‘benefits’ should be for those who work full time. My daughter Aubrynn was 17. She was healthy, full of life, and trusted what she was being told. Social media, mandates, schools, the constant messaging that it was “safe and effective”… that it was how you protect others, your grandparents, your community. She was selected for a school trip from July 9 to July 22, and the vaccine was mandatory. We begged her not to get it. She was the only one in our family who did. She got her first dose on June 7, and her second on June 28, 2022. She believed she was doing the right thing. On July 18, while on her trip, she texted me that she didn’t feel well. We immediately drove from Michigan to New York to bring her home. We arrived the next day, on our three-year-old’s birthday. We had cake, ice cream… and Aubrynn and I shared soup before she went to bed. The next morning, I took her to urgent care. After hours of waiting, she sat up and asked, “Did they call me yet?” Moments later, she collapsed from cardiac arrest. She was airlifted to the hospital. Put on ECMO. Given Remdesivir. Her body began shutting down. Her limbs turned black from lack of blood flow. Infection spread. Her kidneys failed. On August 6, we were told there was nothing more they could do. We had to let her go. And I’m so tired of being told “it wasn’t the vaccine” while the same messaging continues to be pushed like nothing happened. She trusted what she was told. She followed the rules. She did everything they said was right. And this was the outcome. Not just “safe and effective.” Not just statistics. Because informed consent should mean all the information… not just the parts people are comfortable saying out loud.
