It is utterly disgusting to see another Muslim space in the GTA, this time in Mississauga, be allegedly invaded and vandalized.  Copies of the Quran and other books have been found ripped up and strewn across the floor, in what appears to be yet another incident of Islamophobia.  Just this week, we saw death threats made towards a Muslim community in Aylmer, Gatineau.  Islamophobia continues to be on the rise, as our communities are still healing from Canada's deadliest incidents of hate, the Quebec City Mosque shooting, and the killing of three generations of a family in London.  We call on all leaders in the area and beyond to denounce this incident, condemn Islamophobia, and connect with community members to build a plan that addresses the rise in anti-Muslim hate.  We hope for the full restoration of this space for prayer and use by the community.
