@AshBuildsWealth I never upgrade my phone. For what? It does everything I need it to do. my phone bill is € 7 a month

Other than rent, my biggest expense is my phone bill at £39/month📱 Upgrade is due in September, but for the first time ever, I’m not taking it. Sure, my battery drains fast… but swapping to an £11 SIM-only deal saves me £28 a month to drip straight into stocks 📈 Who else has ditched the upgrade cycle to free up cash?

What’s your opinion on SIPPs? 🧠 I’m thinking about consolidating my old workplace pensions into the Trading 212 SIPP, so they’re all in one place and I have more control over how they’re invested. I won’t be adding to it any time soon as I’m focused on building my emergency fund and adding to my S&S ISA first. But it’s something I can add to later. Has anyone made the switch? Was it worth it?

I think with how much we all rely on our phones these days, it’s silly not to have an efficiently running phone. You can pick up a perfectly reasonable smartphone these days for a couple of hundred pounds that could easily last you more than 5 years. Even a re-furnished iPhone can be picked up very reasonably. Couple that with the cheap sim only contract.

@bxns_hyfr I have bottled water at home, we have a water system at work, and when I visit people, if it’s tap water I won’t drink it.

The UK water system is actually mad when you think about it 😭 Water can go from sewage, through massive treatment plants, then back into the system and eventually your kitchen tap. And we all just casually drink it every day.

100% discover a strategy and find out what type of investing suits you and your lifestyle. A nice tip which i found useful is, when you discover a position, your decision should resolve around a set of rules and not your mindset. You may miss out on a few positions but your losses will be far less.

Seeing the people I follow on X, with all these big numbers in their ISAs would have defeated me in the past or made me feel like, “what’s the point in starting?” But, it’s actually motivating me. We all have to start from somewhere. We all have different experiences with money and habits.

I had to move home. First place? Hated it. Broke the contract after 15 days, lost the deposit and first month’s rent. Second place? Even higher rent. Higher deposit. I was completely wiped out. I hit rock bottom. But that moment changed everything. I never want to feel that again, and I won’t.

Your financial position can change in a heartbeat. I know someone who lent £8,000 to someone close to them. Their own situation crumbled shortly after, and they couldn’t get the money back in time. They’re still recovering. Lending without a buffer is the same risk as investing without one, your money is illiquid and at the mercy of something outside your control. A HYSA keeps your safety net liquid & growing. The market can wait. Stability can’t. Don’t risk what you can’t afford. Before you invest, before you lend — build your emergency fund in a HYSA. Never give what you can’t afford to lose.

Building a Stocks & Shares ISA has genuinely changed how I think about money. I care less about spending now. More about ownership and long-term freedom.

Can we talk about UberEats for a second 😭 The most convenient thing ever. And one of the most silent money grabbers out there. Restaurant prices are already inflated on the app. Then they add a delivery fee. Then a service fee. By the time you checkout you’ve spent a third of your grocery budget on one meal that brings about 10 minutes of happiness. I went back and calculated what I spent in 2025. 41 orders. One month alone I ordered 9 times. £664 gone 😭😭 !!

@financefraz I sell accessories! Like hats, ties, etc. I would definitely do that too, but I don’t drive.
