🧵 We celebrated a double-first with two patients going home the same day after knee replacement operations at 2 of our hospitals. Karen & Chris were both back home within 12 hours of surgery marking the first time we've provided total joint replacements as Day Case procedures.

I think it’s absolutely wild and cool that we can do a cephalomedullary nail with just local and sedation. I’ve used the technique a few times now and it works very well with short nails. Here is the paper, and a screenshot of my notes of the technique. journals.lww.com/jorthotrauma/p…
