Legit question. What does keeping him for a 3rd year accomplish? Does a Sweet 16 in 2027 make you wanna him for a 4th year? Unless you think he’s gonna have an elite team that’s gonna be in contention for a 1-2 Seed you’re just kicking the can down the road.

@AllThingsCatz Not to mention, Pope cannot recruit. it’s only going to get worse. We’re only in guys top 5 because Kentucky is still the brand some what, but that is fading quickly, and will only get worse under Mark

@BBNMASE Multiple injuries (Jrob, Butler, Kerr, Lowe, JQ, Kam), a top recruit in Jasper who absolutely sucks and didn’t live up to the potential. Doesn’t all fall on him, don’t think Pope has been amazing but instantly firing doesn’t make any sense

Everybody’s solution is to just fire everyone, it’s an absolute insufferable mindset when you consider what Pope has had to deal with

@AllThingsCatz Mark Fox being your top assistant is all you need to know. Whole program needs to be cleaned from top to bottom. If oweh doesn’t pull that shot out of his butt, it’s a first round exit. I just don’t see how people can settle for a 7 seed and 2nd round exit, that’s just not us

@AllThingsCatz All of that is true, but He should’ve never have been hired in the first place. Dude had no proven track record, and was a nostalgic-feel good hire. In the real world, if you don’t do your job, you don’t keep it. Pope fits that criteria. 22 Mil roster, this can’t be the result.
