Check your balance before leaving the ATM gallery. 4. Log dispense error immediately. CBN mandates auto-reversal, but proof helps. 8/ *Bankers’ side*: Every morning we print “journal roll” before loading cash. It shows all NEPA cuts + failed dispense. We match it with the physical cash + reject bin. 99.9% accuracy or audit will finish us.

3/ Scenario 2: Cash came out halfway, then light off The cash presenter “pulls back” the money into the reject bin if you don’t take it in 30 secs. UPS powers that move. The machine logs “customer not taken” + credits your account back.

2/ Scenario 1: Card went in, NEPA cuts off before cash comes out The ATM didn’t finish the “dispense” command. It writes “transaction incomplete” to its journal. Your account is NOT debited. If it did debit, it auto-reverses in 24-48hrs.

1/ If NEPA takes light mid-transaction, your money is 100% safe. ATMs have 2 things: a UPS battery + a “journal log”. The UPS gives it 15-30 mins to shut down properly. No cash disappears.
