It is either you do not get it, which is inexcusable, or you are pretending, which is even far worse. Nobody is asking pastors to do the government’s job. The problem is when you are playing besties with the same people failing the country, then turning around to tell the people suffering under them to go and pray. You cannot be that close to power and act like you have no responsibility to speak up. This is what people are complaining about, in case you don’t know, but I’m sure you do. Some of them have even told us their prayers are what is sustaining these politicians, so why is it suddenly so difficult to tell your besties to do what is right?
NEON ADEJO@NeonAdejo

Stop attacking pastors over what the government should be responsible for, you didn’t elect pastors into office. The constant criticism of men of God needs to stop. We keep focusing on minor issues while ignoring the major ones. We are all responsible for building a better Nigeria, not just spiritual leaders. As long as you carry a Nigerian passport, you count.

@abidemiwords @MasterBolaji @grok @Uptownoflagos In Nigeria specifically: Under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, power is divided into three main lists: 1. Exclusive List (Federal Government controls) The federal government has full authority over areas like: Defence and the military Foreign affairs Currency

The reason why they don't want to call out the government is because they don't want to end up being picked up by the DSS
Glorious God@GloriousGod01

Nigerians are masters of deflection and blame-shifting. The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is right here on this app: @officialABAT The Minister of Power is on this app: @AdebayoAdelabu The Minister of Finance is on this app: @WaleEdun The Minister of Works is on this app: @DavidUmahi Yet instead of channeling our energy and anger toward these leaders who actually hold power and responsibility, we're busy dragging innocent religious leaders. This is exactly why Nigeria will never improve anytime soon. You're dragging Pastor Nathaniel Bassey and Pastor Jerry Eze while our so-called leaders are relaxing comfortably in their air-conditioned offices and luxurious cars. You don't touch the leaders because you're cowards; afraid of the consequences that might follow. But you harass pastors because you know they won't arrest or harass you back. Who ruined Nigeria? Did you elect your religious leaders into political office? No! So why are you dragging them for doing what they were called to do; pray and give spiritual guidance? Enough with the cheap deflection. Face the real culprits holding the reins of power. Stop the cowardice and demand accountability where it actually matters. Above all, love God.

Today, we convened a strategic meeting with all the 57 Local Government and Local Council Development Area Chairmen, alongside selected members of the Lagos State Executive Council, to secure their support for the successful take-off and sustenance of the re-introduced Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise in the state. The meeting was in furtherance of our shared commitment to restoring the culture of cleanliness across Lagos. I emphasised that achieving a cleaner, flood-free and sustainable environment requires collaboration between the State Government, Local Governments and residents. Last month, Mr. Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, formally launched the re-introduced Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise as a call for Lagosians to take responsibility for their immediate environment. With Lagos generating about 13,000 to 14,000 tonnes of municipal solid waste daily, the challenge of waste management requires collective and consistent action. We already have market sanitation exercises every Thursday between 7am and 10am across the State. If markets, which are central to economic activity, can observe regular sanitation, it is only right that households and communities also embrace this culture. As part of the implementation strategy, State EXCO members, Local Government Chairmen and senior officials will be assigned to various locations to monitor compliance during the designated sanitation periods. A monitoring and enforcement team will also be deployed to ensure effectiveness. In addition, we will introduce a monthly award for the cleanest Local Government or LCDA, with incentives attached, to encourage healthy competition and reward commitment to environmental cleanliness. We also urged all Chairmen to intensify public enlightenment on proper waste disposal and discourage dumping refuse on roads, medians, open spaces, drainages and canals. I appreciate the commitment of the Conference 57 Chairman, Hon. Sesan Olowa @Olowajaja , and all 57 Chairmen who pledged their full support for the initiative. Their collaboration is critical to restoring environmental discipline and sustaining a cleaner Lagos. Together, we will rebuild the culture of sanitation and create a cleaner, safer and more sustainable environment for all. #CleanerLagos #GreaterLagos
