Today, U.S. forces lifted the blockade on all maritime traffic entering and exiting Iranian ports and coastal areas, in accordance with the President's direction. American forces are not impeding the transit of vessels to or from Iranian ports. All U.S. military blockade enforcement efforts have ceased. Our great Naval Ships will remain in the general area to make sure that all aspects of the agreement are adhered to, obeyed and in full force and effect.

@StephanAJensen As an American, I'm hoping that this debacle permanently discredits the warmonger class. We held back nothing except ground troops and nukes and it didn't work. American invincibility is now a myth thanks to Trump. Time to accept that other nations get a say.

Whether with the Taliban, Putin, or Iran- has the US ever had a president more eager to give its enemies everything for free at the negotiating table? And more determined to punish America's allies? "Decline is a choice" - and that's exactly what Trump has chosen.

Iran won this war. By closing the Strait of Hormuz, they forced Trump to capitulate without achieving any of his major war objectives. I hope future presidents will study the lessons of this defeat. Too many people died, and too much money was spent for nothing.

After Rubio blurted out that the US went to war for Israel, the Trump admin pivoted to a new pretext about Iran building some kind of impenetrable Death Star of ballistic missiles. So much for that one. Sounds like Trump is truly done with this war.

In Évian, I congratulated @POTUS on his agreement with Iran. We both agree that it should mean a definitive end to Iran's nuclear programme. The Strait will reopen. Oil prices are falling. And that's how diplomacy delivers.
