This is the core of the fight we’re currently having on the Right: Are we people of the truth, even at the expense of the tribe, or are we people of a tribe, even at the expense of the truth? I think this is a false choice. We are a tribe of truth. We can fight and win while boldly standing on truth.

Charlie was my age. He was a father just like me. He was a Christian just like me. He had no beliefs more extreme than I hold. I can only assume this means they want me dead as well.

Ok, if you don’t like “woke right,” which label would you prefer? There’s Nietzschean Right, White Racial Awakening Right, Critical Consciousness Right, Machiavellian Right, Post-modern Right, Post-truth Right, “Hitler was misunderstood” Right, White Nationalist Right, Pagan Right, Ethnopagan Right, Eurotrash Right, Blood and Soil Right, Monarchist Right… I’m sure I could think of some more. I’m not really particular. “Woke right” just helps me save a few characters in my post. Which one do you like best?
Thomas the Tac Engine@TomTheTankie

@JoelWBerry The “Woke right” bit isn’t sticking, Joel. It’s just not. Only in your little echo chambers on here where you, James Lindsay, Bari Weis and Rosanne Barr all pat each other on the back all day long. Keep it up though

All families are propositional at their origin. A man “proposes” to a woman. Yet you wouldn’t call a family tree propositional. You incorporate external elements through marriage, but the core identifier is the biological lineage running through generations. A nation may begin with a proposition. But it persists through lineage, not ideology.

I like @TRHLofficial’s answer to “What is an American?” However, if this definition is true, we are a proposition nation. This is something rejected by the paleocon/NatCon/dissident/woke Right. They believe what makes an American is his genetic lineage. They reject Lincoln’s Gettysburg address and the “equality clause” in the Declaration. These visions seem mutually exclusive to me. I’m still curious where people like Matt Walsh and Charlie Kirk stand. Do they already have a firm conviction, or are they putting their fingers to the wind?

Western culture didn’t spontaneously spring from white European DNA. We share the same genetics with ancient Celts, Danes, and Goths who were just as backward and savage as the Aztecs and Incans. Then Christianity came to Europe. Faith changed them. Christ civilized them. If we start attributing Christ’s work to the “glory of our DNA,” He will humble us. He’ll slap us back to the Stone Age in a heartbeat and give our birthrights to the meek and lowly.

This is materialistic determinism. It’s the psychopathic, nihilistic, anti-human philosophy of Yuval Harari and Marquis de Sade. Humans are more than animals. We are creatures made in God’s image with a real inner life, free will, and moral culpability.
hoe_math = PsychoMath@ItIsHoeMath

Culture is genetic because behavior is genetic. This beaver never saw a dam in its life. No beavers or anything else ever taught it to build a dam. It wants to build a dam because it is a beaver. Many beavers together build a big dam. That is beaver culture. Humans are not different. Nothing is different. This is what life is. This is how life works. Your body is your mind. A caterpillar wants to build a chrysalis. A bee wants to build a hive. A lion wants to build a pride. You are not special. You are not above your nature. you are INSIDE of it. The thoughts that we think are genetic thoughts. The crimes we commit are genetic crimes. The art we create is genetic art. Just like this beaver, you can give the animal different sticks and it will build a different dam, but it will always build a dam. And you can give humans different "education," but the human will always use it to do what its genes tell it to do. This is the first big answer that you need. This is the biggest piece of the puzzle. This is how to understand people 90% of the way. You just... notice what they do, and get out of the way, and watch them do it. And if they need sticks, you give them sticks. And if you don't like what they do, you have to get away from them. You cannot train dam-building into them or out of them any more than you can with a beaver. A beaver wants to build a dam because it is a beaver. Whatever you see people build, that's what they wanted to build from the sticks they got in the river they were in. Stop pretending you can change it.

Do you think that fatherhood is illegitimate because it is susceptible to tyrannical impositions? Perhaps tyranny-immune is the wrong goal. How about high resistance to degradation? Then maybe look to institutions which have lasted millennia for inspiration. Biblical family. The church. Etc.

"Liberalism OS always steadily degrades one's polity and civilization and is structurally always vulnerable to being hacked by radical Left malware; therefore running Liberalism OS was a mistake." If your freedom protection system both degrades liberty into license and fails to prevent tyrannical impositions on liberty, you need a different system. This is perfectly reasonable.
Joel Berry@JoelWBerry

The postliberal approach: “Marriages end in divorce. The institution of marriage is a mistake.” “The locusts ate the wheat field. Farming was a mistake.” “Life ends in death. Life was a mistake.” “Leftists corrupted freedom. Freedom was a mistake.”

@Se7enball @JoelWBerry Agreed, but we find ourselves in a position where the government makes it illegal to reinstate those underpinnings that have been eroded over 250 years in the name of liberty, so what are we to do?

Two pillars of Leftist religions are moral relativism and multiculturalism. For the last 60 years, they have lied to every young generation that those are the founding principles of America. The post-liberal Right are kids who grew up being taught that, and who believe it. That’s why they attack America’s founding instead of the Leftists who lied to them about it.

@Se7enball @JoelWBerry Yes, the point is liberty, and liberty unconstrained is a devolving game. Liberty must be ordered, and the founding documents take for granted the substructure that ordered liberty in the colonies. The documents themselves are inadequate to restore that which orders liberty.

@BillyJacques @JoelWBerry That's because 'the system' isn't supposed to prevent them. That's the point of liberty; it's on the people to maintain its foundations. Complacency destroys liberty.

The main target of the post-liberal Right isn’t the post-war consensus, it’s this sentence right here. They think the founding of America was poisoned by radical egalitarian Enlightenment thinking, and that it must be completely overturned. Their goal is to impose hierarchies from the top down, by the will of a “virtuous” sovereign. Those hierarchies could be based on blood, birth, religion, or whatever else they might cook up. They never quite give details about how this will work. The American belief does not impose hierarchy, but also, it’s not anti-hierarchy like the Left is. It’s not egalitarian. The American belief is that if you give people freedom and equal justice under righteous law, the correct hierarchies will emerge. Jefferson called this the “natural aristocracy.” You can agree or disagree with the post-liberal Right, but we have to be honest: This movement is fundamentally opposed a core tenet of the American founding. It wants a different country than the founders established. But they can’t come out and say that openly because their movement would die. That’s why so many of them lie, obfuscate, and gravitate toward Machiavellian tactics. I’m all for the debate, but debate only works if both sides are honestly representing their own views.

This is vague and disconnected from our current reality and also ignores that most founding fathers were already aristocrats due to privilege and position more than pure egalitarian meritocracy while many of our most prominent political leaders are essentially bloodline aristocrats already
