🔒 Kidnapping in Madrid: Canadian entrepreneur rescued by witnesses A Canadian entrepreneur active in the digital asset sector narrowly escaped a violent kidnapping on Monday evening in Madrid's upscale Salamanca district. Three individuals forcibly dragged him off the street near Calle Claudio Coello, using pepper spray before forcing him into a Ford Transit van with a falsified license plate. Quick intervention by witnesses and bystanders — including residents alerting police from their balconies — allowed Spain's National Police to locate the vehicle on Ronda de Toledo within roughly fifteen minutes. Two Serbian nationals, aged 33 and 45, were arrested. A third suspect remains at large. Investigators established that the attackers had followed the victim from Barcelona to Madrid, where he had traveled to finalize a digital asset transaction. Their primary objective was to force him to reveal his wallet passwords. Inside the van, officers found plastic restraints, sedative pills, and firearms. GPS data pointed to Petrer, in the province of Alicante, as the intended final destination. The incident is part of a broader criminal pattern cybersecurity experts call "wrench attacks" — the use of physical violence to extract wallet seed phrases or private keys from digital asset holders. atlas21.com/kidnapping-in-…
