If the founding fathers had wanted god and religion in the constitution they would have put it in there. many theocratic authoritarian regimes have god in their constitution. Christian nationalists don’t get to add it to ours.

We have government officials who swear their oaths of office with a hand on the Bible. In American courts, witnesses put their hand on the Bible and swear to tell the truth, so help them God. God is explicitly mentioned in the Pledge of Allegiance: "one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." This nation was built on Christian values. Many of our foundational laws draw directly from the Ten Commandments, including: - Thou shalt not kill (basis for murder laws) - Thou shalt not steal (basis for theft laws) - Thou shalt not bear false witness (basis for perjury laws) - Honor thy father and mother (influencing family and societal order) Our Declaration of Independence itself recognizes rights "endowed by their Creator." A simple Good Friday reflection from DHS honoring a solemn Christian observance isn't "inappropriate", it's part of acknowledging America's heritage. Freedom of religion doesn't mean erasing it from the public square. This isn't Iran; it's the United States, where faith has always been woven into our national fabric.

The birthright citizenship case is really helpful. It is helping Trumpists realize: 1. They don't support the U.S. Constitution. (They're not remotely "constitutionalists.) 2. Their desired outcomes are not very popular and the Constitution won't be changed.
