@ANC_Historian really loved this week's article. (and i've always spelled it as one word, no space, no hyphen. just seemed right, being a noun and all.)

After doing the origin of "cabin fever" a couple of weeks, this week I present the history of "breakup," from verb to noun, literal to idiom. adn.com/alaska-life/20…

The two-year, $5.5 million offer sheet the Jags signed Seahawks WR Jake Bobo to ... • $4.5M fully guaranteed. • $1.75M signing bonus. • $1.25M base for '26. • $2M base for '27. • $50K workout, $200K per-game RBs each year. And $1.5M in incentives (max value = $7M). Seattle has til 3/25 to match.

@BrettRevolt @AlbertBreer Bobos a tremendous role player to have. Unfortunately for him there’s nowhere to play him to justify the cost. He’s the 5th WR / 4th TE. The Os passing efficiency dipped when Horton got hurt. Lastly, Myers season is indicative of MMs philosophy of take the points vs gamble.

@hawkblogger I'm ecstatic about Bobo, as well as JSN. Still wondering if there's another development in store for the WR room that would put all these signings into perspective, such as a Cooper Kupp retirement announcement. (I have not heard anything, but doesn't seem far-fetched.)

@GameWithinGame @AlbertBreer True, but tell me: How did Jason Meyer set the record for most points in a season, if they were so amazingly effective in the red zone?

@hawkblogger I hope the Hawks match. Bobo is more than just a good teammate, he's underutilized. Great size, great blocker and special teams, but the guy is excellent at contested catches. Why they don't use him more near the end zone is beyond me.

@Jason_OTC Wow. Glad we're not the Eagles! Have to get super creative just to make room for a one-year contract, still paying for it five years down the line!

@hawkblogger If the PNW is South Alaska, makes sense to re-sign a player who hails from North Alaska. I can attest that we are indeed big fans up here, and we love us some Pili! Made some big plays last year, and the arrow is still pointing up.

@realjeffsimmons Fearless prediction: Seattle's leading rusher next season will be a 2026 undrafted rookie free agent.

@hawkblogger I LOVE Bobo, but that's a lot for your FIFTH WR spot. Given the Shaheed deal and presumably keeping JSN for ever and ever, should we wonder about the statuses of Kupp or Horton?

Easily the best surprise of the Seahawks offseason so far. It had sounded unlikely he would return. I had said you don’t always get to keep the Maserati when you have a budget. John Schneider has a garage full of monster trucks and sports cars. Let’s see what he does next

Seahawks are bringing back WR Rashid Shaheed on a three-year, $51 million deal that includes $34.7 million guaranteed, per Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey.

@hawkblogger In the 12 games he played in Seattle since the trade, Shaheed went 18/36 for 266 yards as a receiver. That's a 50% catch rate, and zero TDs. This deal seems foolish to me. That's a LOT of money for a returner. I am much more optimistic on Horton becoming the WR2.

@Ballknower0825 @hawkblogger If they're going to sign him to a $51M contract, I am absolutely going to judge him on those 12 games (not 9) in Seattle. Does it not matter how he fits in our offense? I did not see evidence of a great fit. Enjoy having your opinion, I just disagree.

@BrettRevolt @hawkblogger So you're gonna judge him based off 9 games, where he had success on special teams as well? Yeah, can't take you serious. That's not why you sign free agents, my man. You sign them based off the entirety of their career.

@BrettRevolt @24TaylorMade @hawkblogger Give him a full offseason with sam, it takes time for receivers to find chemistry with qb and fit in offense. He’s shown in New Orleans he can be a legit number 2

@Ballknower0825 @hawkblogger Look at his time in Seattle. JUST as a receiver: Shaheed (12 games) 18/36, 266 yds, 0 TDs Horton (8 games) 13/22, 161 yds, 5 TDs That's a 50% catch rate. That's why I have concerns about paying him like a WR2, when I have not seen the proof yet. (At least, in Seattle.)

@CDonnick1 I agree on the chemistry, or lack thereof. He looked like a special teams guy pretending to be a receiver. Not enthused to spend that much for a return guy.

Term is nice since the JSN deal will hit full go at the end, does this also indicate anything about the Horton medical? Pricey for a gadget if Darnold and his chemistry doesn’t improve - didn’t show pure WR2 stuff here *yet* - but not having to worry about replacing him is sweet

Would’ve rather brought back K9 if you had to choose 1 O weapon (even if both contracts were identical tbh…) but this money is still significantly less than I thought Sheed would get on the market. Standard guarantees, hopefully easy out by year 3, keep an elite ST unit. Good.

@24TaylorMade @hawkblogger Sorry, I know I'm in the minority here, but a $17M returner seems like a luxury. What I saw on the field was them TRYING to work him into the offense, but having limited success. Didn't connect on a deep shot until the NFC title game. His impact was mostly on returns.

@BrettRevolt @hawkblogger He's worth that for his return abilities alone...now he gets a full off season of work with Darnold...id say put him down for 50-70 catches and 800-1100 yards
