Alright.. here's how I thought about the problem
1) Modeled Option 1 and Option 2's cash flows (defined above)
2) Took an NPV of those cash flows (note that both interest and principal are cash in flows, even though one is just a repayment of principal)
3) Put together a data table on the delta of NPV using redeployment rate (Option 2's interest rate) as the first variable and NPV discount rate as the second.
The conclusion: My argument stands I think .. economically speaking, it's in the best interest of lender shareholders (ie the equity behind the lender) to let go of these loans and have them be prepayed rather than wait for the payment.
Note that this doesn't account for probability of prepayment - obviously not all loans will last 28 years. I suppose I could run a monte carlo on this with a distribution of outcomes on prepayment.. but... it's too late for that :D lol
Curious what you guys think!

People who GSD
Sarah Tavel@sarahtavel
Mitochondria are employees who act more like founders. Their DNA is different. They start from what the company needs, and work backwards from there. They power your company through good and bad. It is critical to hire them and retain them. More here: sarahtavel.com/p/the-mitochon…

@jefielding Surprising. For quality studios that spin out to seed/A, investability is a fundamental stage gate. Sounds like they made promises to their LPs they’re learning they can’t keep?
English

I love the idea of startup studios but cringe when I see the cap tables. Of the 250 companies we've backed, only 1 has come out of a studio. Hard model to stomach.
But the people who really got screwed are the founding teams who (likely) didn't know what they were getting into :(

good night, mr / chris fralic, he
hoped they are well with his family.
the reason for this writing is born with the idea of making your knowledge of a project that I have ready, and I am in the phase of looking for an investor, in this sense you have been identified as one of the possible investors.

Just as #DefenceTech and #ClimateTech sectors start to look *hot* from investment activity pov, my 2cents worth of advice to new founders:
- don’t enter this space because it looks hot
- Customers don’t pay for R&D advances in these sectors
- don’t build what you think VCs want to see you build. Build products you can sell to customers
- protect financial resources like there is a downturn about to hit you

Serious question: are there any modern product demos better than the ones from @BostonDynamics?

It’s time for Atlas to pick up a new set of skills and get hands on.

@BrienBuckman That’s before anyone answered the door. Then he disappeared seconds after that.

Is this Menlo Park Police (@MenloParkPD)?
This guy came up to our door yesterday evening and rang the doorbell. When my wife walked towards the door he heard footsteps, and instantly disappeared.
