@Susan1034456 @BritainUnbound I only want to see for myself how few show up just so they can't gaslight us all later telling us all that there were tens of thousands.

Currently enjoying the commentary on the live stream from the Rejoin EU March currently walking from Temple Station to Parliament Square. Apparently according to the streamer, there could be "as many as a few thousand". It looks as though there might be 5-800 people.

Like him or loathe him, Dominic Cummings has played an integral part in the story of the British Isles in the first half of this century. He pulls no punches in this article, and though we may not agree with it all, it is certainly thought-provoking. unherd.com/2026/06/how-to…

FYI, I'm going to be posting plenty of charts over the next few days to challenge some of the usual narratives about the economic impact of Brexit... 🤓 1⃣ "the vote to leave caused a collapse in the pound" Sterling did fall sharply in June 2016, but it had already started to weaken in 2015 as a consensus emerged that the currency was overvalued. This was reflected in the UK’s large current account deficit, which bottomed out at 5.2% of GDP in 2016 but has since roughly halved. The strong pound had also contributed to three years where inflation was below the official target of 2%, averaging 1.5% in 2014, zero in 2015, and still just 0.7% in 2016. The fall in the pound did then lift inflation, but only to a peak of around 3% in 2017. Moreover, the dollar-sterling exchange is not necessarily the best measure, because the US currency has been strong across the board. In trade-weighted terms the fall in the pound between 2015 and 2016 did little more than reverse the rise since 2012. This is even clearer in this alternative chart, which shows the pound against the euro. In short, at most the leave vote accelerated a fall which was already underway - and this correction was not necessarily a bad thing.

Referendum campaigns come with unique challenges. General elections are fought constituency by constituency, with hundreds of local campaigns focused on target seats. A referendum is different. You need to cover every constituency simultaneously, building a nationwide operation at breakneck speed. NOtoAV was a great preparation for the EU referendum - I knew what I was getting myself into.

"Project Fear predicted a Brexit apocalypse for the City. It never happened" As we approach the tenth anniversary of the vote in 2016, it is important that we don't let the continued despair of those who lost ten years ago, to overshadow the victory. telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/06/2…

@LizWebsterSBF @Nigel_Farage Liz. You are just embarrassing yourself now. The boat crossings started in earnest in 2018, after Calais was secured from hiding in trucks. Three years before leaving the EU transition period. The small boats have nothing to do with Brexit.

@Nigel_Farage You started it with Brexit! Only rejoining the EU can take back control of our borders.

@vivamjm @s_bentall You seem to struggle with the concept of a yes or no answer. But you did confirm that Richard was wrong. Which is more than Richard could do. You wasted your time typing the rest - you need explain nothing to us. We're the ones correcting people like you and Richard.

EU members cannot .. *but that is the whole idea*...a single market & customs union combined means there are no internal trading barriers.. members can trade (regulatory & customs borders) freely with each other. .while also giving them a combined (customs) union & (single) market greater appeal & economic might in trade negotiations with outsiders, at EU level only competence. A bit like the UK having sole trading legal competence (internal market bill) over its member nation states

@vivamjm @s_bentall You keep replying Michael, but not to this. You are going to reply to this, aren't you? Come on Michael. Prove you're an adult capable of answering a simple question.

@vivamjm @s_bentall Michael. Prove that you are more worth talking to than Richard. Richard was wrong when he said that the UK could negotiate a trade deal with Turkey from within the EU, wasn't he. It's a yes or no question Michael. Prove that you're not the barmy ideologue that Richard is.

@vivamjm @s_bentall It limits their capability, as the customs union is a customs union. The clue is in the name. They *cannot* negotiate terms on tariffs within the scope of the CU, as they are not in control of those areas. The EU is. Come on Michael. Be better than Richard.

@s_bentall Don't worry about us Dick. You're the one being thrown back into the pit of irrelevance where you belong. You've been weighed and measured this evening, and proven beyond doubt to be a liar and a fraud. So our job is done. Goodbye Dick. Enjoy continuing to lose.

@s_bentall So you can't do it. You're demonstrating to the world that we are 100% correct - that all academic prowess you may have had in the past has gone completely out of the window, and you are now nothing better than a bitter and bigoted ideologue incapable of intellectual thought.

@andrewhesselden The ones you need. Not a care in the world about the country, what is best for the UK. Just looking out for yourself. At least you admit to being selfish alongside being woefully uninformed.
