🌸 International Women’s Day 2026 – #GiveToGain 🌸 Yesterday at our Freehold Chai Project, we had the pleasure of welcoming the truly inspirational couple Kashif Ashraf and Sabeen Ashraf as our guest speakers. They shared their powerful personal journeys and spoke from the heart about making a positive difference in our communities. Their message centred around the strength of women, the importance of supporting and uplifting one another, and inspiring mums to pursue careers, dreams, and opportunities with confidence. Kashif also spoke about the important role men play in supporting, encouraging and uplifting the women in their lives, reminding us that when men stand alongside women as allies, families and communities become stronger. 💜 In the spirit of #GiveToGain, Kashif and Sabeen also very kindly distributed household items from Ultimate Products, gifting them to the women who attended to help with the cost of living during this blessed month. This thoughtful gesture meant so much to everyone present. A huge thank you to Kashif and Sabeen for taking the time to join us, for sharing your inspiration, and for your generosity. Your words and kindness truly touched hearts and motivated so many women in our community. In December, over 2 cohorts, we trained 60 Oldham women in 'Advanced Staying Safe Online'. Brilliant training, great to see so many women being vocal, sharing their experiences, and learning skills. Fantatsic Partnership project - Women's CHAI Project and Manchester City Council.

✨ We are truly honoured and delighted to receive the Mayor’s Appreciation Award! ✨ On Tuesday, CHAI staff and some of our amazing volunteers had the pleasure of visiting the Mayor’s Chamber. The Mayor and Mayoress of Oldham were absolutely incredible — we shared deep, inspiring conversations and learnt so much about the Mayor’s role and Oldham’s rich heritage. We were also given a tour of the new chambers and gallery… and wow, what a transformation! The space is absolutely stunning. We all left feeling inspired, grateful, and proud of the work we do together. 💛 Thank you so much to the Mayor and Mayoress for such a warm and memorable experience!

STOPTOBER Last month working in Partnership with Your Health Oldham, we had discussions in all our Oldham CHAI groups around smoking cessation, tobacco, vaping, sheesha, paan etc. The extremely talented chai ladies created A3 posters with key messages of stopping smoking. Last half term, lots of learning @Greenhill_HT CHAI, we had #BreastCancerAwareness with #PinkChaiDay in collaboration with Henna Foundation & @muzahidukhan. Alziemers & dementia awareness, crafts for wellbeing & mental health awareness. Mum's made amazing food, including this fabulous cake by our very own amazing Yasmin (Oldham Bakes)

Fantastic session last week at Freehold CHAI. We had the amazing inspirational role model Muzahid Khan MBE DL share his personal journey inspiring, motivating us all, he also discussed #thegiftofgiving, the pink chai campaign, breast cancer awarness, charity work and much more. Fantastic Pink Chai Gala Dinner in aid of raising awareness of Breast Cancer. A huge congratulations to Muzahid Khan MBE DL, Kashif Ashraf , Henna Foundation, Upturn, Amana for a fantastic campaign and superb event. Some of our amazing volunteers attended with chai staff and the inspirational Focus Trust CEO Helen Rowland . Great to hear fantastic inspiring speeches from Dr Anita Sharma, Tahira & her mother, & of course our CEO Najma Khalid. Absolutely awesome hosting by Muzahid and Kashif. Wonderful to see our Mayor of Oldham Eddie Moores and chai supporters & friends. We were delighted to recieve the Certificate of Appreciation. We have loved being part of this key campaign. Thank you so much to all the organisers for a wonderful evening.
