You already spent $1.75 trillion more than you brought in last year. Feel free to spend a little more to solve all our problems. Then, after we see how great these programs are, we can figure out how to raise tax revenue to keep them alive. If they’re really that great and solve all our problems, then sure. Let’s tax the rich. That would be worth it. But the reality is you have no plan to solve any of these problems, even given endless money. Any additional tax revenue raised will go straight down the hole. You’ve already spent it. You’ve spent $1.75 trillion more than you brought in. And we’ve all seen how little it has done for us.
