Soon after, she secured a fully funded PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences at North Dakota State University. And once she got there, she didn’t just exist, she grew. From earning recognitions like the Dean’s Scholarship to taking on leadership roles within the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, Edith steadily became the kind of person her younger self was still trying to imagine. Her work pushed into meaningful territory, developing innovative therapeutic strategies for Alzheimer’s disease, with the goal of improving patient outcomes. And even beyond the lab, she kept expanding her impact. As co-founder of the Give Her A Chance Africa Foundation, Edith has helped provide free drugs and testing services for people living with HIV/AIDS and cancer, ensuring her success translates into real impact for others.
