@CatholicCubsFan Ours was around three and a half, I think. Eighteen baptisms, twenty-some confirmations. One big family got baptized, which was really sweet. I was really flagging by the end, but my friend got Confirmed, so there was celebrating afterwards that woke me up.

Catholic friends - Do any of you receive on the tongue? I suspect a few of you do, but am not sure how common it is.

@RhyminCarly Almost three hours. Our celebrant during his homily emphasized that “all time belongs to Him.”
Unfortunately that did not extend to singing all four verses of the recessional.

@RhyminCarly It’s a weird thing to say, but I sometimes wish I could borrow a baby.
One thing to which receiving on the tongue has alerted me is that my hands are sometimes imperceptibly dirty, so it’s generally a case of better safe than sorry.

@CatholicCubsFan That’s a really good idea. I very rarely go elsewhere, but if I do, I’m gonna try it. I have done it a few times while borrowing a baby, but because it was under duress it didn’t feel the same.

@RhyminCarly Try it next time you go to a parish that you don’t usually attend. Not that anyone at your proper parish will judge you poorly, but no one at a different parish will judge you at all.

john williams is best known for his main themes and marches but i think where he shines through the most is his love themes, marions theme, across the stars are some of his best and most emotional works

@DocSharkey I don’t know the exact number or even the capacity of the building, but my understanding is that everything from the 5th row from the entrance onward was reserved for those folks.

@CatholicCubsFan I do definitely find that to be true. It’s gotten a little better over the years. I can tell it’s really hard for those who are doing it as a career. Music director sometimes distracts me with her whispers about whether things are being done right.

@RhyminCarly I’ve been in choirs before. It always took me out of the Mass because I was more focused on getting the music right.

@RhyminCarly It’s always jam packed, but usually that just means I have to get in line about four hours before the church doors open. Not this time.
