Professor Amupitan is right to stand his ground. The term 'status quo ante bellum' simply means returning to the state before the legal 'war' began in September 2025. Calling for the sack of an INEC Chairman for obeying a Court of Appeal order shows a lack of understanding of judicial processes. The ADC should focus on their internal legal battles instead of attacking the umpire.

“If they (ADC) are saying we have taken sides, that is not true, because if you look at the status quo ante bellum, we tried to interrogate it, and it means the status before the hostility started, the status before the war.” - Prof. Amupitan INEC Chairman responded to David Mark-led ADC calling for his sack over INEC's derecognition of their NWC.

I checked to be sure you’re a lawyer , BUT there’s not the faintest indication you’re one — or well educated. Let me, however, volunteer few lines for you . 1. First, in law, that “order” from the Court of Appeal WAS NOT an injunction. Even Prof NEVER said INEC was directed by the Court of Appeal TO DO ANYTHING! Okay? 2. Do you know why the Court of Appeal did not issue any injunction? The answer: the Court of Appeal had already ordered what is called ACCELERATED HEARING . Where a court is presented with a request for injunction ( these are equitable remedies), the court may decide, INSTEAD OF THE INJUNCTION, to order ACCELERATED HEARING. 3. In addition to the above reason, there was no appropriate injunction, in law, strictly speaking, that could have been issued by the Court of Appeal . Why did I say so? The injunction to be issued ordinarily would have been an injunction asking INEC to stop recognizing David Mark . However, that’s one of Nafiu’s MAIN/PRINCIPAL reliefs . Therefore , granting that injunction would have meant determining the case even BEFORE IT IS HEARD. Is that right ? 4. Two, what the Court of Appeal said was that PARTIES ( including INEC) should maintain status quo ante bellum— that is the position of things before the Originating Summons was filed . ( Now, let’s answer this question: What was the position before Nafiu went to the Federal High Court? Answer: David Mark was the interim chairman ) 5. You see, the Court of Appeal COULD NOT have intended that a leadership vacuum should be created in the ADC , which would foster chaos , while the suit continued. Not at all ! If the Court so intended, it would have issued an injunction. Okay? 6. Now, let’s take this hypothetical scenario: If you’re crowned the King of Senseless People, and the Most Senseless Person takes you to court, challenging your installation, an order for maintenance of status quo WOULDN’T mean you’d be dethroned , pending the conclusions of the case. WOULD IT ?! @nelson

We need Enzo against Man City, but discipline is very important. It's a way of showing him that he's not bigger than Chelsea. Missing him may not help against City, but it's laying a good cultural foundation moving forward, sending a message to the squad that actions have consequences.

Yesterday defenders of democracy, today's destroyers, What a shame. What an irony of history, that the acclaimed defenders of democracy and human rights who claimed to have fought for democracy during the era of General Sani Abacha now find themselves worse than the man they opposed. Today, General Sani Abacha, once presumed face of oppression, will be remembered as seemingly more democratic and more respectful of human rights than the so-called champions of activism from the NADECO days. Power indeed reveals character. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

My former boss at work back in 2014 was a staunch supporter of the Apc, during the electioneering period she made sure she mobilized forces against anyone who supports Goodluck Jonathan, every news of boko haram bomb blast she tells everyone that cares to listen that GEJ is clueless and have no power to rule. When elections was getting counted on tv and GEJ was initially leading she created a chaos by started running and saying “CNN said they would be war in Nigeria if Goodluck wins “, the whole office was in confusion that very day, fast forward to 2018 two of her siblings school at the “ Fountain university “ were kidnapped under the administration of the person she loved “Buhari”. She couldn’t contain herself and was crying and beating herself up and made sure family got the ransome on time, when they sent the video of the execution of her brother and sister to the media and it hit the social spaces she slumped and was hospitalized for days, I did not pity her and sent her a stinker of text messages cos she wasn’t remorseful of how others are feeling but since it has it close to home she’s now crying wolf. Anyways I lost my job with that company cos it’s her brother who own it but I don’t regret that stinker text and email I sent to her to laugh at her plights. Those of y’all that supports this government whatever befall this families will befall you all in multiple ways 🙏.

When @officialABAT is done with Nigeria, you guys will understand why some of us were unrepentant against him. You can't let a Certificate forger get close to power and expect him to play by the Rules or law. This is a man who can go to any length to destroy anything that stands in his way. He has the tendency to even make the most educated person in Nigeria look stupid and daft. In law, status quo ante bellum is to get back to how it was before the suit but somehow a Professor in Law and Senior Advocate of Nigeria does not seem to understand it or in an event where he cannot identify which status quo is referred to, to approach the Court of Appeal for clarity of her Order. E be things 😏😏😏 Good morning Everyone, have a wonderful day and God bless YOU and YOURS, Amen 🙏

Sir I truly Understand how you feel, But like I have said I am Deeply Sorry for the Misinformation, You Demanded for an Apology and I have publicly apologized within the time frame you gave, Please Forgive my Actions, I had no intention or internal motive to damage your brand’s reputations, It was Just An April Foool Act, Being that it was first of April yesterday, and in Quran 42:40 Which says; The recompense of an evil deed is an evil one like it too, but whoever pardons and Forgive Others, his rewards are with Allah, please in the name of Allah I seek your forgiveness.
Sarkin Mota@SarkinMota_AMF

You don’t get to put years of my hard work and everything I’ve built on the line, then dismiss it as an April Fool’s joke. That kind of misinformation has real consequences, and it affects not just me but the people connected to my brand. This also isn’t the first time something you’ve done something like this, which makes it even harder to overlook. If this behavior keeps being excused as a joke, it will continue to damage people’s reputations unfairly. At some point, there has to be accountability, this time you must be held accountable. This goes beyond a simple apology.

Leadership Tussle: Nafiu Bala Resigns As ADC Chairman By Funke Ogunlolu The 2023 Gombe governorship candidate and former national deputy chairman of the African democratic congress. Nafiu Bala has tendered his letter of resignation after declaring himself as the interim national chairman of the party. In the letter Addressed to the former national chairman of the party, Ralph Nwosu, Bala stated that his resignation was to pave way for smooth and effective coalition as well as restructuring the party. Bala assured that he is not abandoning the party and ready to serve in any capacity but the former Gombe governorship candidate was silenced on the David Mark-led interim leadership. The announcement came after the official handing over of ADC to the former Senate President and his team by the former national executive committee on Wednesday. During his declaration as the national chairman, Bala had accused Mark-led interim leadership of the ADC of hijacking the party through unconstitutional means and warned of impending legal action to challenge what he described as a “total surrender” of the party’s structure to external political actors. The former deputy national chairman emphasized that the party’s constitution clearly outlines the processes for leadership succession and that, in line with those provisions, he was now assuming the position of interim national chairman. I Publicly & Sincerely Apologize to Sarkin Mota, his consumers and all his well wishers, my recent post saying he was invited by the Nigerian customs authorities was entirely false & untrue, I didn’t made the post out of häte or neither do I Made it to Demarket & tarnish his brand’s image, I made the post just because it was April Fool Yesterday Being first of April, without any internal motive, I am totally sorry for the misinformation & whatever damage it might have caused.
Sarkin Mota@SarkinMota_AMF

Your statement is false, damaging, and completely unacceptable. You have 24 hours from this moment to publicly retract your statement and issue a clear apology across the same platforms it was made. I have spent years building my brand, my reputation, and my name with integrity and hard work. I will not stand by and allow it to be tarnished by reckless and defamatory claims. Failure to comply within this timeframe will leave me with no option but to take immediate legal action against you to the tune of ₦2,000,000,000 for criminal defamation. This is not a threat, it is a commitment to protect what I have built.

It’s utterly disgraceful that someone parading himself as a presidential aspirant can develop such selective amnesia. Why didn’t you join ADC when you defected from PDP in 2022 in pursuant for party to contest for President? Or have you suddenly forgotten that your own team of lawyers warned and advised you about the avalanche of court cases surrounding that party advising you to settle for the Labour Party instead? Convenient memory loss, I see. What’s even more embarrassing is that a group so desperate to grab power couldn’t be bothered to do the most basic groundwork on the very party they rushed into. If forming a new party was too intellectually demanding for you, the least you could have done was properly study the one you chose. But no; you all jumped in blindly, driven by ambition rather than sense. Now the cracks you ignored are wide open, your lack of preparation is backfiring spectacularly and instead of owning your incompetence, you’re shamelessly pointing fingers at Tinubu and the APC led govt. This isn’t persecution. it’s the predictable consequence of carelessness, arrogance and zero due diligence.

A guy sits in a taxi and sees his wife entering a hotel with another man and tells the driver, “Do you want to earn $500 right away?” The driver excitedly says “What do I have to do?” “My wife just entered that hotel with another man, bring her to me by the hair, here's a picture of her.” After a while the driver is seen dragging a woman by the hair, while she’s kicking and screaming. He opens the door and puts her in the taxi. The husband says to him, "This is not my wife" The driver replied "I know, this is mine, hold her for me please, now I’m going back for yours”
