🚨 Really interesting detail in @VersaBank's latest SEC filing! 👀🔥 The bank says it has now successfully completed its pilot program for tokenized bank deposits on Algorand, Ethereum and Stellar! ✅ VersaBank says it is the FIRST bank to complete such a pilot, and the fact that $ALGO is already compatible with real banking infrastructure is HUGE! IMO, this passage is also particularly interesting: "VersaBank believes its RBTDs represent the next step in the evolution of digital assets and a superior alternative to stablecoins." "In addition, the Bank expects its RBTDs to be eligible for conventional federal deposit insurance (subject to confirmation by regulators) and have the legal ability to pay interest, which non-bank issued stablecoins are not allowed to provide." So yeah, these RBTDs (Real Bank Tokenized Deposits) represent federally regulated bank deposits on $ALGO, $ETH and $XLM, and could potentially be insured and pay interest, unlike most stablecoins! 🤯 Another sign that blockchain rails like Algorand are definitely moving closer to traditional banking! 🔥 Let's see what's cooking! 🫡
