@AstorAaron The problem is that what people seem to want is "hate gays and immigrants more," and I can't really see going along with that personally.

My suggestion would be for Democratic strategists to spend some time outside the familiar enclaves. Learn about what people want and need and also listen to how people talk about those things. Don't fixate on "left v. centrist" or say people are "voting against their interests."

Let's be honest here: This was an across-the-board shift away from the Democratic Party. Not just one demo (though Hispanics shifted the most). Two main reasons: Inflation and Democratic priorities and language that just doesn't appeal to non-college people (esp. men).

What the hell, a predictions thread. Harris is the solid favorite to win the popular vote, by 3-5 pts (basically Biden's margin). Democrats have been underestimated in every election since Dobbs, and pollsters have clearly been bending over backwards to be "fair" to Trump. 1/
