I rise to support the Bill, but with caution, and this is from the perspective of the Public Accounts Committee. First is the question of the actual expenditure. I note that we have 12 days to the end of the financial year. I am hoping that as Hon. Atandi asks us to support this Bill, and we do so, the committee will appropriately caution these agencies that they had better be sure that they will spend this money before the end of the financial year. ~ @OAmollo #BungeLiveNA.

Yet it is always women who are expected to be inconvenienced.
Out of the +1k testimonies shared under my tweets, not a single man has come forward saying he missed school, postponed getting his driver’s licence, put his studies on hold, sacrificed his sleep, or gave up opportunities in order to care for children. Not one.
So enough with the language that seeks to guilt women into accepting unequal burdens. The reality is that women are overwhelmingly the ones expected to adjust, sacrifice and make themselves smaller for the sake of others.
