Have a night kid! #Hit100 @jaybobwillie Not bad since he was out his sophomore year due to an injury. #Everydayplayer Here is what I love more than anything tho… close game… his coach asks him to bunt to advance the runner. It didn’t even register in his mind that he probably wouldn’t get #100 at that plate appearance. He did what he was told without hesitation. Because he loves the guys he plays for and he knows to do his job.

Michael Phelps won 23 Olympic gold medals using a mental technique most athletes ignore: "The biggest thing that really separated me through my career was my mental game. Everything that was in between my ears." Michael explains how he used visualization: "When I would visualize, I'd visualize every single thing getting up to a meet, probably a month or so in advance. What could happen. What I want to happen. And what I don't want to happen. Because when it happened, I was prepared for it." He describes the goal: "When I got to a swim meet, there's nothing I can control at that point except what I do. I can't control what anybody else does. So I want to know how the race could go, how I don't want the race to go, and in a perfect world, how the race should go. So I could get behind the block and not have to think about anything." His coach Bob Bowman reveals how they trained this skill: "When Michael was young, I gave his mom a book of progressive relaxation. Before he'd go to bed at night, she would read this progression of things: clench your fists, work through your whole body. He got so good she'd just open the book, say two things, and he'd be asleep." Bowman explains why visualization works: "The brain cannot distinguish between something that's vividly visualized and something that's real. By the time Michael steps up on the block at the Olympics, he's swum that race hundreds of times in his mind. All he has to do is shut everything down and it goes on autopilot." Michael adds the key detail most miss: "When I would visualize, it would be what you want it to be, what you don't want it to be, what it could be. So you're always ready for anything. If I have a suit rip, fine, I need another suit, put it on. Any small thing that could go wrong, I'm ready for."

After a season of transition, deep reflection, and total surrender, I have accepted the position of Program Director and Head Boys’ Basketball Coach at Expression Prep in Huntington, WV! 🙏🏀🦁 For those who’ve followed our journey (our teams, my family) I have made some mistakes but @LbMays, @jaybobwillie, and @Raegan_Mays12 don’t regret our path. We love our former players and coaches. We love the people in the communities we have been a part of. After I resigned from Montgomery County I discarded the scouting reports in a dumpster, put the playbook in a burn pile, and gave basketball fully back to the Lord. I started Cognitecture, LLC — pouring everything I’ve learned about the science and art of winning into athletes, leaders and teams. I told God I would only coach again if He dropped an opportunity in my lap that could only come from His will, not my striving. 🚪➡️ Enter Expression Prep. 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙗𝙖𝙨𝙠𝙚𝙩𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙡.. 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙖 𝙢𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩.. 𝙏𝙤 𝙞𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙪𝙣𝙖𝙥𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙥𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙪𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖 𝙝𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙥𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙚. Young men come in as lion cubs🐱and leave roaring with their own, strong, Christ-centered voices as Lions🦁. Under the foundation built by @fulford_rob, carried forward by Coach @HprepCoachBruce and Coach Shannon, and rooted in the vision of Pastor Kevin West and @ecohuntington, and @sbs2911 along with Mikey Walters at @EPA_Athletics - we are building one of the premier high school basketball programs in the country. Our facility is becoming the true hub of hoops for KY, WV, and OH. We will win with CONFIDENCE, COMPOSURE, and CLASS. And we will never apologize for pursuing excellence for the glory of God. To the young men ready to become Lions — this is your time. To the families looking for more than just basketball — welcome to the pride. Let’s build something eternal. #PurposeDriven #WeHuntWins #PlayTogether #PrayTogether

Facts over feelings. Good stuff @_willcompton
Josh Chambers@JoshChambers

Former NFL Linebacker Will Compton was PREACHING in this segment with @NDFootball about Creating Evidence. A must watch regardless of title, age, or industry: 👮‍♂️ You start with BELIEF, you stand on EVIDENCE. Facts don't care about feelings. When you get there, nobody cares HOW you got there, they care about how you can HELP. 👨‍⚖️ One Rep ➡️ One Day ➡️ One Week ➡️ One Game ➡️ One Year. At the end of the year, you're graded and judged by the evidence of your WORK. Evidence doesn't just arrive, it's acquired and accumulated everyday. It’s never one moment, it’s the accumulation of all of them. 🏷️ Let Proof Override Labels. Creating Evidence isn't about running from the truth, it's about creating so much proof that past labels become irrelevant. 🧵 Everything matters. Every rep has meaning. Even when you can't see it. Too tired, too emotional, too worn out to see or hear it, but it still means something. So you must TIE meaning to it. The smallest action either adds to your case or subtracts from it, tie purpose to all of it. 🖋️ Facts are permanent, but they do not define who you are, or who you have to be in the future. The truth is the starting point, not the ceiling. Face it, use it, and build forward, the obstacle is the way.

The enterprise already knows. College basketball is two years behind. @levie mapped exactly what's coming for programs that aren't paying attention. What does that mean for the college basketball staff? New post: kerrykeating3.substack.com/p/the-enterpri…

Don’t get frustrated when you fail, get fascinated as to why you failed. Frustration leads to comparison, which is a thief of joy.

Derek Jeter shares a masterclass on preparation and mindset. "My biggest thing in life that makes me most uncomfortable is being unprepared. And that's in anything." "You hear athletes talk about the game speeds up or slows down. Well, it slows down when you're prepared. Speeds up when you're unprepared." That's the difference. Preparation helps you feel ready for what can and will arise. "Every time you're in a situation, I've already gone through it in my head." "If you have the same approach to a spring training game as you do a World Series game nothing changes." The moment doesn't get bigger - you stay the same. That's the secret. The greats embrace the boredom of consistency. They aren't clutch because they rise to the occasion. They're clutch because they've already been there a thousand times in their mind. (🎥Drink Champs )

We don’t need more discipline as much as we need a consistent routine. Often mistaken as having OCD, routine driven people are more successful because they minimize the time spent reacting. They act with purpose and FUEL for that purpose.
