I remember as a kid when i was helping with groceries i held the grocery bag in a specific manner and my dad told me to stop it because "i was holding it in a really girly manner", and at that point something snapped in me and realized gender norms are stupid and i wanna be enby.

@ColtMail @feeonline but while I was working there for over a year and renting an apartment for my family, I read his economics textbook and it didn't even have the basics about capitalism that has to do with the land control as a commodity. so you're right I should have gotten the nobel.

@feeonline the elephant in the room that people like him never speak about is the fact that the way that capitalism controls land keeps the bulk of the people poor because it keeps wages low and the rent high. this is basic macroeconomics. it is a lie by omission

In the early months of the 2008 GFC, gold crashed 32%, about 40% of its prior bull-market gain. After gold bottomed, it surged 178% over the next three years. Gold nearly hit $4,100 today, down 27%, about 40% of its gain since $2K. A 178% surge from that low puts gold at $11,400.

There’s a really important difference in that the price goes down. It’s how companies have done “surge pricing” forever and it’s a great system. Going the other way only works in markets that are super dynamic and can use the price signal to get immediate supply. Consumers tolerate that.

@cafreiman When it's gouging based on need and when it's particularly targeting an individual ability to pay That's pretty predatory. Better to treat all customers equally. I don't like regional pricing on media either. You can't use pricing information to make decisions this way.

@cafreiman 'Surge pricing' is just a marketing mistake. They should have called it 'normal pricing' and called normal pricing 'discount pricing'.

@RobBfromDerby It’s such nonsense they all talk about having to apologise for this stuff, who is asking them to apologise. Why have I never been asked to apologise or anyone I know asked, are they getting confused with being asked to say sorry for being racist, or generally arse holes ?

BREAKING: If Iran does not open the Strait of Hormuz in 48 hours, Trump threatens to strike Iran's power plants. SUCH AN ATTACK IS GETTING CLOSE, IF NOT INTO, THE WAR CRIMES ZONE.

@NotTrumpFan @iey0beeW @CatoInstitute And it's not just about what's right or wrong. Markets work better. On the level of pure economic analysis markets provide prosperity better than government ministries. If you want to know more, read Friedman's many books.

Lower taxes mean more freedom, more choice, and more opportunity. When government takes less, people can do more. Let’s remind ourselves of the wisdom of Nobel Prize-winning economist Milton Friedman.

@NotTrumpFan @iey0beeW @CatoInstitute Just ask grok. It's been widely written about. Roads are a private good so it's really a non-issue. And tolls are a valid system. People don't 'like' paying taxes either.
