To those who, with monotonous frequency, say “You’re a scientist, stay out of politics, stay in your lane”, I reply: Who, then, is allowed in the politics lane? Are scientists the only people who should avoid politics?

However, it’s never too late and also not hard to get context. To ask why they think a certain way or feel a certain way. To dig for a deeper kind of psychological, emotional and spiritual understanding. 2/2

It’s hard to realize how little context we have for another’s experience. We haven’t lived their life, haven’t had their experiences and often lack some of the foundational pieces to really understand where they’re coming from. 1/2

All of this external focus blinds a man to the truth of the relationship and what he actually wants. Because the truth is that you’ll never know what you want in a relationship until you see who you’re being in it.

A relationship is meant to teach YOU what you can tolerate. What you want. What you won't put up with and what you ultimately want to build.  When conflict arises, notice what is being revealed about YOU. When  disconnection arises, notice what is happening within YOU.

Most of us men are so outwardly focused in relationships that we miss out on who we ARE and what is being revealed within us. We fixate on our partner or the relationship and say "if only I could solve (her, the relationship, the problem), then i'd be happy.... Bullshit.
