@TheoDJager @justicemalala @WandileSihlobo Pieter has been over-compensating for this spectacular failure on live TV ever since...

So sad! Akkerland was expropriated, and no one can change that horrible part of the history of land reform in SA. The victim got his letter from government officials, and 7 days to vacate. The judge who looked at the expropriation notice in the urgent application believed that he was expropriated. The judge who signed the court order rectifying the settlement said he was expropriated. The newspapers reported on the expropriation. Akkerland was indeed expropriated! @WandileSihlobo

@_Kermit55 @NotVanVeen @WandileSihlobo @wicks_jeff @PieterDuToit @News24 Yep. The moral, constitutional standard is market value compensation minimum, but probably above market value compensation. We've allowed the Overton window to shift into a bizarre place on expropriation law.

The ruling says News24 didn’t breach the Press Code. - It doesn’t say your reporting was balanced or complete In fact, the Appeals Panel accepted that facts raised by SAAI were omitted, but ruled that journalists are allowed to select facts provided the overall narrative isn’t materially misleading That’s a pretty low bar for “fact-based reporting”

@CowansView Neither the Council nor the appeals committee are independent. And they would never have the balls to go against the narrative anyway.

Afriforum & SAAI are lobby groups - they don't pretend to be independent News24 is also a lobby group - its mission is just more disguise - shaped via editorial bias and ideological conviction, presented as fact based news news24.com/opinions/colum…

Interesting take considering the Press Council has literally confirmed our reporting was accurate and factual. But you do you.
