@CphGunner@GoonerJoSal I really hope he is close as we keep getting told and he now has 2 weeks to get fully fit. Hitting the ground running will be hard, but we need him.
I dont really care about not winning the Carabao cup, what bothers me is the behavior we see repeated every time the pressure is on. So disappointing, if we don't win the league or the champions league this season a big change needs to be made
John Terry will not get a punditry job or a managerial role in the UK. He will probably be invited onto GB News to bash Muslims and appear as a special guest on Joey Barton's podcast when he gets out of prison.
@kevinhatchard I don’t think anybody really cares, but if as a player you do that at any level. You will get booted in the air. So if anything, he is only asking for that.
I find the criticism of Cherki’s showboating today really tedious. It’s funny, he didn’t lose the ball, and if an #afc player did it I’d say the same thing. People moan that there aren’t any mavericks, and people also moan when a maverick expresses themselves. #mcfc
@CphGunner@GoonerJoSal There's still a lot of moments where the CBs have the ball and they back off too. It's not entirely Kepa looking devoid of passing ideas. They knew we had no ideas if they cut out our usual passing lanes.
I think someone like MLS would have helped in absence of Eze and Odegaard
Generally this team has always managed to get one back when they’ve been stung, I don’t think that game happens with Raya, we just didn’t seem to be able to get out.
This one will sting and it’s probably best to avoid social media for a while and go again.
The technical level today was shockingly poor. I think about the team we were when we played Bayern earlier this season. A Bayern team that’s much better than this city team, including in possession. And we handled that challenge brilliantly. We are a shadow of that team atm
And we’ve seen it coming. Against Brighton. Against Chelsea. These aren’t elite teams. But we have the capacity to just lose control of games because we are short of players who are elite on the ball. Short term we just have to get over the line. Longer term we have to address it
@HighburyHugh He’s beginning to take far too many touches. Only he knows why, but we need him to deliver. I thought he was lucky to not get subbed today.
@CphGunner Apart from the time he missed last season, that was my biggest concern with a serious hamstring injury.
That said, his ability to shoot surely won't disappear. I think there are a few other factors at play.
@rosswhitakertv@scoutingindoors@NewtronGooner I hear that Ross, but it’s been a year. Can any of us name a big game he has had in the last year. Madrid Home and Away. He’s been a shadow for 12 months.
I love him but we can’t pretend that he’s the same player.
@CphGunner@scoutingindoors@NewtronGooner Did you see Thierry saying he played with pain for ten years? We have no idea what Saka is going through and I wouldn’t write him off yet.
If there is anyone who deserves his fans to get behind him it’s Bukayo Saka
First difficult spell of form he’s had in his career and this is how you support him
‘Saka is so washed brooo’
If I have to read that one more time
Have some respect
@GoonerJoSal I think everyone needs to relax a bit. That game doesn’t happen with Raya and we missed a 10. In addition to that City played really well.
We don’t need to burn the house down everytime we struggle.
I’m certain we will win the league, and we have a great chance in CL.
@CphGunner I agree and no one wants to have it.
It can't be as simple as not having Odegaard with him or an overlapping fullback.
Semenyo has been much better.
Chappell Roan addresses Jorginho’s recent post about his stepdaughter and wife.
She clarifies that the security guard wasn’t her personal security and agrees it was unfair of the guard to assume the child had bad intentions.
@scoutingindoors Was never it, was given penalty duties and babied cos of racism he faced during euro 2020 it’s been 6 years and we need results we’ve kept quiet for too long.
Arsenal will still win the league. But to park the bus at Wembley like that with 10 men behind the ball is shocking. They have World Class players who are capable of playing higher up the pitch and attacking. Terrible anti football tactics from Arteta today
@lward343@clivepafc@stirling_j I’m not sure you guys have the minerals in the way you think the players don’t.
The biggest problem with our fanbase is when it gets tough we fold, in the same way we think our players do. The first time is never easy. For anyone.
@clivepafc@stirling_j Come on Clive, when has Mikel ever beat Pep in a game of actual consequence? His players can do what they want because they know we are impotent.
@CphGunner I've said this for years, with Ramsdale as well, when people try and compare shot stoppers like Leno with keepers who are brilliant as ball playing sweepers... the way they open up games for you transforms your options and that's more game changing than just being a shot stopper.
@SamBIitz I don’t disagree with this analysis completely but it seems a bit dramatic for a team that has been dominant in both the PL and CL, some balance is missing.
City played very well and deserved the win.
Not for the first time this season, Arsenal show that if opposition apply enough pressure, the technical ability of the whole team can fall apart.
Was the case in all of the late goals conceded and now the second half here.
Big reflection needed on how they address this. #afc
@CphGunner Yeah focus will be on the drop but the bigger loss was not having Raya's passing. Both his ability to play the ball into midfield but also hit people when going long.
