Did you consider the open borders policy, adding 10-14 million, how it exacerbated this situation, placing strain on emergency systems, state budgets, and provider capacity without providing meaningful relief to the federal Medicaid entitlement for Americans. Balancing acts of kindness (or maybe for political capital) without thoughtful, effective planning is a disaster.

So the undocumented population TOTAL in the U.S. is likely less that two New York Cities added together. A Chilean mining conglomerate is pouring money into lobbying efforts to get the Senate to do some serious legislative gymnastics and greenlight a sulfide copper-nickel mine in the headwaters of Minnesota’s Boundary Waters.    The minerals they mine will be shipped to China to be smelted, manufactured into products, and then sold back to us — all while polluting some of our most precious public lands in the process.   If we don’t stop them, it would open a Pandora's box of threats to public lands in other parts of the country. Every public land order could be reversed. The Senate needs to stand firm: We are pro-mining, but not this mine in this place.

There's an ecosystem that stores more carbon per acre than a forest and survives wildfire better than trees. And we've destroyed 99% of it. Native prairie stores carbon 15 feet underground. When fire burns it, the carbon stays in the roots. Prairie is the more reliable climate stabilization solution, and we converted almost all of it to corn fields in about 100 years. What if we restored even 10% of what we lost?
