Infantry will be totally obsoleted by drones. Long range fires like artillery and missiles will start to come from unmanned vehicles on the ground and in the air (imagine an autonomous m109 Paladin, or the next Anduril Fury fully replacing an F-35), and shorter ranges and patrols will be handled by vehicles slewing common machineguns and grenade launchers, scouting huge ranges of territory with fast drones, sending payload bearing drones guided by high aerial drones spotting thereafter. Countries which can build these systems because they have sophisticated factory systems and engineering talent to make them will create layer of deterrence just below nuclear and an offensive capability that eliminates the military viability of countries which cannot. War will become much less common, but authoritarian rule will become much more possible.

Some of this has been a warranted blowback against slop culture and the great flattening, but we sometimes forget how much of a logistical and organizational miracle it is than Buc-ee's can reliably deliver like this on such a scale, both geographically and quantitatively

I think Intox Manslaughter with two previous DWIs should be:
1. 1st degree felony
2. Probation ineligible
3. Agg time (minimum half time for parole, not a quarter)

I think this is an acceptable idea, but IMO, a better solution would be to put drunk drivers in prison for way longer than we often put them in for.

I am kind of disturbed by how many people see this as “nominalism.”
De Maistre is observing that we never encounter “abstract, universal man,” that is, man devoid of his particular, historical, and ethnic character. You do not shake hands with “man in general” and you do not fight revolutions for “man in general”—as the Jacobins believed. Today we would call them Wilsonians, neocons, or liberal humanitarians.
He is not denying that such a “universal” exists at the metaphysical register. He is denying that any particular government can claim to serve him.
