Ummm no. What strained things at Penn State was his abysmal record against Top 25 teams but wanting to get rewarded for it like he was Nick Saban. I'm looking forward to having Va. tech fans as life long friends in about 4 years when we commiserate about how much snake oil this guy sells.

OPINION: James Franklin has never been afraid to ask big and ask regularly but that strained things at Penn State.
At Virginia Tech, James Franklin is getting whatever James Franklin is wanting.

3 is not a lot for veteran players wanting to play for "their guy". This isn't a knock on Va Tech but you BETTER bring in Top 10 classes every single year and hope they are self-motivated types. Because Franklin is god awful at developing his talent. That's just a fact. Brings them in, can't make them better.

@JagerHokie Not sure why? It's actually still true. Look how many veterans followed Campbell from ISU to Penn State. Not nearly as many for CJF. Really he got the incoming 2026 class who don't know him and also don't know how bad he is at developing players.
