@lizbayleyphysio This is so physio twitter. I've been discussing if chips and a baked potato is an balanced meal in *Glasgow, while (good naturedly) physio twitter argues over words. *Only if it has cheese or curry sauce is the answer.

“Ankle pain caused by synovitis, capsulitis, hypertrophic scarring, shearing forces at the subtalar and talocrural joints, and ocassionally (but less than we used to think), accessory ossicles” didn’t have the same ring to it…

@neuromanter hi Wouter. Looking for two old blog posts of yours. One is explaining pain/wear and tear in terms of old trainers. The other is about a tooth ache that flared up when you were stressed. Any idea what I'm talking about and where they are?

@sunsopeningband @Retlouping I disagree partly with this.. if I comment as a therapist on gun deaths, or say that all health insurance in the states is run by conmen for shareholder advantage and campaign for change...that could possibly be seen as unprofessional conduct.. neither are out of my lane..

@Retlouping It’s the difference between and a job and a profession, really. A job may end at 5. But a license is 24/7/365. If one hold one’s self out as a licensed/registered professional, and that’s a strategy to gain legitimacy in the public square, one is consenting to be regulated…

The Jordan Peterson decision by his governing body and the court, open up some interesting discussions. As a registered professional you have to consider,just because your employment has hours, your profession is 24/7/365 and that includes SoMe. Thoughts?

@Retlouping This type of ruling is one of the many reasons I deregistered.. I should have the right to personal opinion and expression...this takes it away. If I say Trump is a cunt or Boris is a crook, it could have left me facing a complaint...I don't want that stress...

Interesting ruling re: Jordan Peterson. He can use social media as a professional or as a person, but he can't do both..he has to undergo social media training to learn to be more professional... while I may agree with some parts of this, it also erodes a right to a private life.

We had almost 50k gun deaths in 2021 in the US. Did you know that 54% of those deaths were suicides? Having access to lethal methods is a huge risk factor and one of the reasons we need better gun laws, including screens and waiting periods. #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth

@gsingh1902 Bogus or anonymous? Bogus is bogus, but anonymous allows them to question that they may not feel comfortable asking (knowledge deficit) or more confidentiality for them and their patients if treatment related (maybe)

@adamdobson123 Yep… and it’s time to be honest about your uncertainty. Find what they expect their treatment to be, to get them to help them lead you.. also treat what you feel is wrong as well as where they feel wrong + explain why you’re throwing the kitchen sink at them..

Have you ever had a situation where a pts pain location and patterns didn't add up and/or varied. Examination/imaging didn't offer anything. Labels 🏷 were useless? Yes? Welcome to the reality of real people and real situations. More common than folk like to admit.
