The Julián Álvarez story with Atlético Madrid is over. The player will definitely never wear the Atlético shirt again.
Atlético will complain, protest, and probably accept lower offers than Barcelona’s — whether it’s Arsenal’s proposed swap deal involving Gyökeres plus cash, or any offer from Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, or Bayern Munich — just to avoid selling him to Barcelona.
But Barcelona have already reached an agreement with the player, and what he said today was reportedly part of that agreement. Deco appears to have done an excellent job on this operation.
Now Barcelona will get the player — yes or yes — whether Atlético like it or not.
The simplest outcome is that the player takes the case to FIFA. They would assess his market value and allow him to join Barcelona regardless of Atlético’s wishes.
Few people realize just how weak Atlético’s position is. Their chances of winning this battle may not even exceed 10%.

@HelloBenWhite Fabrizzio is just sharing the info, it was well known that Alvarez wanted out, Spanish journalist talked about it in February but now it has been confirmed by Alvarez himself that he wants out.

This is the blueprint. Help start the fire by excitedly reporting the interest. Add kindling to ensure it keeps burning by constantly tweeting the same thing with the words changed or moved into a different order. Watch the fire spread, wait for the player to say he wants the move and then declare it’s up to the clubs to agree a fee. His current club didn’t want to sell but now the conditions for the buying club to succeed have been stoked and the wind is in their favour. Job done. And it will be repeated.

Agent fees were also agreed. 👨🏻⚕️ Newcastle had the wheels in motion for a medical over in the US and were on the verge of completing a deal. 😐 But they were instructed to wait over the last 24 hours by the player's representatives, and #LFC swooped. 🔴 Liverpool had always been at the table for Muñoz so they didn't come in last minute, but agreed £34.5m release clause (two instalments) and Muñoz chose Anfield. 🤷🏽♂️ Newcastle now trying to get to the bottom of what happened in the last 24 hours, but there was always top competition for the winger last few weeks.
