Microsoft may be quietly laying the groundwork for a dedicated handheld gaming ecosystem.
A new Xbox Handheld logo has started appearing on official game pages for titles like Gears of War: E-Day, Halo: Combat Evolved, and State of Decay 3, alongside the usual Xbox and PC icons.
This suggests Microsoft is taking handheld gaming more seriously.
The company has already partnered with ASUS on the ROG Xbox Ally and is rolling out a Handheld Compatibility Program to help players easily identify games optimized for portable devices.

Is Swan totally wrong? So many in games media trashed or called these games underwhelming at launch and created negative hype. They didn’t even sell well on PlayStation or Switch. A lot of people like myself love hyping up these games but can’t get them to support or buy them all the time. It’s a sad reality of gaming. Sony has been closing studios left and right, same with Ubisoft and others. I really wonder how the industry would look now if COVID never hit, because it does feel like it messed up everything again.

@Jawmuncher @Andy_VGC Why did you leave out so many other Xbox games? You even left out Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and Doom. You aren't even trying to be genuine. Diablo, Starcraft, Warcraft...etc lol HOW is that "just Halo, Gears, and Forza?" That exclusive lineup would be triple of what PS offers.

@iherrsonniger @Rothmus Those kids wouldn't be so very very disproportionately in the prison systems if they had 2 parents. The single parent issue caused the imprisonment issue, not the other way around. Job market was never better than it was in the 90s where blacks were at their worst.

@Rothmus you get it wrong by blaming only one thing for big family changes. It ignores how hard it became for people to find good jobs and how many parents were taken away by the prison system. You can't blame everything on one policy when the whole system was changing.

In 1960, nearly a century after emancipation, only about 22% of black children grew up in single-parent households.
By 1990, after the Great Society welfare expansions, that number had more than tripled.
Thomas Sowell has long shown this wasn’t the lingering shadow of slavery or some vague “legacy.”
The destruction of the black family was the direct result of welfare policies that subsidized single motherhood and penalized marriage.
The incentives changed, and family structure collapsed accordingly.

Most black births today occur out of wedlock, and a growing share involve different fathers over time. Two-income households carry an extremely low poverty risk around 1–2%. Single-income parent homes face poverty rates of 25–35%. The nuclear family still matters. Stable two-parent households produce dramatically less poverty, less welfare dependency, and less burden on society. This isn’t “systemic”. It’s the predictable consequence of personal choices about marriage, family, and responsibility.

@carygolomb Xbox gave that same freedom to plenty of other studios that chose to make games ppl actually want to play. These studios have nobody to blame but themselves for being let go, but the stockholders and Xbox fans should blame Xbox for bad management

It actually is Xbox's fault for allowing these devs to do whatever they wanted for as long as they wanted.
Was it nice of Xbox? Absolutely.
I also liked the inclusion of those games in GamePass.
But most didn't care and here we are.

@xboxBG Yeah people make it so complicated but here is the reality. Xbox will have 1-2 major exclusives a year and PS will continue to have 1-2 major exclusives a year as they have this entire generation. It's really not as complicated as the media is trying to make it seem

Fine: Two of the studios I've been told, including getting messages from employees at the locations who are "scared", are Compulsion and Arkane.
Despite public messaging, many within the studios have expressed real worry and have overheard conversations about the future of the studios.
I've reached out to Xbox for comment, but to no avail thus far.
