@NateBlanchett I've been writing in Bob Dole for every local, state, and federal election since 2006. My conscience is clear.

@dprzygoda She earned 2 1/2 million fewer votes than trump did and that's entirely on her.

Let’s be clear: Platner has not earned ONE VOTE yet. And to blunt the inevitable anti-Kamala tweets: she DID earn our votes. During the 2020 election and during the 2024 primary before the general.

@MarkBerry915 @hutchinson If you as a politician ignore the concerns of your base and then lose the election the blame lies with you not the voters.

What else would it mean? If there really was an autopsy showing that folks who sat 2024 out because of Gaza were the reason Kamala lost, they would necessarily have been responsible for Trump winning. That’s what that would mean and there’s no getting around that.
tamarackhack91@tamarackhack91

@hutchinson You’re so unsophisticated it’s hilarious. Your argument is “if you think Gaza was the reason Trump won you are “giving him credit” when in reality the left is entirely laying the blame at Harris feet for caving to the donors on the issue as they have been since 24

@Mike_from_PA I actually want to hear a good faith response as to why any centrist thinks that Fetterman isn't an example that following the dem gameplan of moderating and pushing down progressive/leftist elements of the party. He checks all the boxes for what we're told is necessary to win

@hutchinson Aside from there being any unforeseeable wild shit happening yeah that's how politics works. There would be criticisms of his faults and what errors he made in his campaign but why would anyone yell at the voters unless it's the people who say blue no matter who and then don't?

I’m maximally blue no matter who so this doesn’t apply to me, but let’s say a bunch of Maine dem voters decide they’re not comfortable voting for Platner. Platner loses and dems miss a senate majority by one seat. Are you guys going to blame Platner in that spot? 😃
Mike Cohen@mcohen2

@hutchinson Blaming voters is loser shit. Candidates are responsible for GETTING votes.

@hutchinson when they made these decisions and then blame the voters. Voters spoke their piece dems said they didn't care and then DEMS lost the election.

@hutchinson If the base begs the candidate and party to stop the genocide, proceeds to not take their demands and warnings seriously and miscalculates so hard it loses them election that is a failure that is the fault of the party/candidate. You can't treat them like they didn't have agency

@harrisonjaime The only way to do anything to stop black districts from getting wiped out is by having the power to stop it and refusing to make changes just ensures that power will never be gained leading to guaranteed disenfranchisement.

@harrisonjaime How many dems in their 70's+ have died in the last 4 years Jaime? Having 70 and 80 year olds as the face of the party in influential positions and dying in office is part of the reason the dems are losing. If black districts get wiped out making changes is even more important.

In all due respect, if Black districts get wiped out across the south, you don’t have to worry about the age of committee chairs… because there won’t be any committee Chairs. Wrong moment. Wrong fight. Wrong priorities.
Amanda Litman@amandalitman

If Democratic House members allow this to happen, the likely effect will be a majority that will not do what they’ve been elected to do — this is a generation of leaders who (by and large) are not willing to do things differently.

@BrandonLBradfor Who is responsible for democratic party losses outside of the democratic party? Are you ignoring that conservative democrats are part of the democratic party?

I think the idea that Dems have had SCOTUS is.....well just untrue. Ignoring that conservative Dems exist will make history easy to frame, and a future difficult to build. Why is the Right never responsible for their actions?
agent ndn@TheAgentNDN

Dems literally controlled all three branches of government under Biden and did so little with it that they lost to the president with the lowest approval rating in modern history. There's literally nobody else to blame for Democrat losses except the Democratic Party itself.

I'm a data point. A voter. I feel disrespected as a woman, today. I feel as if my reasonable concerns have been not only ignored, but sneered at. Gaslit. If I feel this way, others will too. If you want to win, you treat people's feelings as having merit. Then you try to persuade
