England’s group games are at 9pm, 9pm and 10pm If we win the group, the potential schedule is: L32 at 5pm L16 at 1am QF at 10pm If we finish 2nd in the group, it’s: L32 at midnight L16 at 8pm QF at 8pm If we’re one of the 8 best 3rd place teams, it’s: L32 at 2.30am L16 at 9pm QF at 2am The SFs and final all kick off at 8pm

Here's my World Cup schedule spreadsheet. It's so difficult to watch every match live from Europe that you could raise money for charity by attempting to do it. #gid=0" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d…

@Nick_Metcalfe Of course it will but that group stage will be far too much of a slog

To switch it round a bit, I am gutted about Italy. But I don’t share the view many friends and colleagues have - good knowledgable characters among them - that this World Cup will be a busted flush. Despite its faults I see it gripping the planet as it always does. #WorldCup2026

@Nick_Metcalfe Yeah good shout, definitely better than Ally Pally although I did think it would be good somewhere in the capital.

It's not something I'll be losing much sleep over, but FWIW I'd like to see the 2029 World Snooker Championship in Manchester. It's a great city. Superb transport links. Snooker history - WC was there a number of times just before Crucible era. It's Manchester for me. #Snooker

Regardless of the rights and wrongs of Tonali’s potential exit, if it happens, I hope it happens as quickly as possible after the season ends. We simply cannot afford another shitshow like the Isak situation last summer. #NUFC

@RobJF24 Yeah but their events could in turn be held elsewhere. But I think no to Ally Pally as the seats are all temporary

Seeing many folk clammering for Alexandra Palace or the Barbican to host the World Championship during the gap years, and I have to honestly say that these two would be my LEAST favourite choices. We don't need two Triple Crown events held at the same place in the same season.

Agreed. The biggest event in the sport -- the Olympics -- is held in July/August and we still seem to manage okay. If London wins the bid in '29, it's worth creating an exception and hosting in August so that one of the great cities of global sport can host Worlds.
Dan Lilot@Lilot1TrackMind

The benefit of having a London Worlds in the first half of August (as the '12 OG and '17 WC were) is greater than the WC serving as the culminating event of the season.

@TimAdams76 Yes this is something I thought would be a problem when I heard we wanted to host it again now that it's held in September

Interesting that West Ham could potentially be a bit of a brick wall in London's bid to host the 2029 World Athletics Championships. This is over their reluctance for the stadium to be used for athletics in September, regardless of the fact the government and mayor support it. Rome, Munich and Nairobi are big cities that are in the running.
Sean Ingle@seaningle

A couple of us spoke to Seb Coe in Torun about West Ham not wanting to allow their stadium to be used in a September 2029 World Athletics Championships. I expect the government will apply pressure - but Munich, Rome, Nairobi and one Indian city also keen theguardian.com/sport/2026/mar…

I’m in the mood for a Netflix series that’s fun and engaging, maybe with a bit of humor, because I need a break from overly serious shows.

People want to blame Howe more than PSR because it’s more fashionable. Had Howe been able to lure his first choice targets with the wages 15th placed Man Utd and other teams were able to do, we wouldn’t be in this position. The PL made these rules to stifle us - blame them more.
