First ever marathon - 3:54:30 🫶 Ran the London Marathon today and it was one of the most emotional, rewarding and toughest things I’ve ever done in my life. I could barely walk afterwards and sustained cramp in three different places in the last six miles. I’ve never hit ‘the wall’ beforehand but I did today. Thanks for all the support, it means the world!

Very sad news reported by the Ethiopian Athletics Federation on FB. Marathon runner Yebrgual Melese has died at the age of 36. She ran in the Paris Marathon only last month where she was a DNF. She was second in the Chicago Marathon in 2015 and ran her PB of 2:19:36 in 2018.

All the Westminster psychodrama aside, the fact we might soon get our sixth prime minister in seven years is clearly an indicator of a political system that is completely broken. Which matters a lot more than who’s in charge of it, yet gets a fraction of the attention.

This has all the makings of a pretty exceptional race at the Rome Diamond League. Expect Keely Hodgkinson to take a large chunk off her personal best of 51.49. Such is the quality of the field (excluding the Tokyo podium), I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of athletes run under 50 seconds.

Just look at this 400m clash at the Rome Diamond League 👀 Some of the world's best runners will compete over one lap at the Stadio Olimpico on June 4 🇮🇹 🇬🇧 Keely Hodgkinson makes her Diamond League 400m debut in Rome 🌍 Four of the world finalists from Tokyo will be competing (Natalia Bukowiecka, Amber Anning, Henriette Jæger & Nickisha Pryce) 🇺🇸 Aaliyah Butler, who ran 49.09 in Monaco last year, is also in the field

Just watched the BBC documentary on how they made Life on Earth back in the 1970s. Fascinated by the production behind the scenes and how they put the series together around the world. One of the best things I’ve watched in a long time.

Why is Declan Rice blatantly dragging/wrestling Mavrapanos into the goalmouth not a foul, but an arm across the front of Raya is? Ridiculous decision that has a major impact at both ends of the Premier League.

This woman just made ultramarathon history in 56-hour, 250-mile run in Arizona. Rachel Entrekin won the Cocodona 250 outright in a 56-hour, 250+mile effort, beating the entire men’s field, setting a new course record, and marking a landmark moment in ultrarunning history.

This is quite a photograph. A young David Attenborough with 2 children. The boy is now the King and almost 80. The girl is Princess Anne, a couple of years younger.

Bruno Fernandes is a worthy winner of FWA award. He’s been the beacon of #MUFC this season. First United player to be voted top since Wayne Rooney in 2010, which came in a period when six winners were not Premier League champions ⬇️ nytimes.com/athletic/72608…
