Every devotee deserves a proper and dignified darshan. How can some be treated as VIPs in God’s temple while the rest struggle like this. Many temples in India have well managed systems for smooth darshan. Such systems should be implemented across the country. Most importantly, VIP darshan culture needs to be ended immediately. ₹3500 Nikah package: Fake Aadhaar address, forged age proof, instant WhatsApp marriage Certificate Kerala Mosque caught red-handed enabling child marriages ! News Malayalam’s investigation found that marriages are conducted for Rs 3500 in the Noorul Huda mosque. It is controlled by Adv Shamsudeen, allegedly a Communist Party of India Marxist (CPM) local committee member. Marriage certificates with updated age can also be obtained from the mosque. Reportedly, Shamsudeen inherited the masjid as part of his family property. An orphanage also operates along with the mosque and madrassa. The Imam (Sunni Muslim leader) conducted a marriage despite knowing that the girl was just 16 years old. Noorul Huda authorities falsified the Aadhaar card issued by the Government of Bharat by adding fake addresses. Perumbavoor is teeming with immigrant workers, including Rohingya criminals and Bangladeshi infiltrators. The news channel’s undercover camera caught several maulvis moving around in the Noorul Huda mosque. The reporters approached one such maulvi and inquired whether they could arrange a marriage. They said that a man and a girl working in a company had fallen in love and wanted to marry. The man is a Keralite, while the girl is from Bengal. We came to know that your mosque conducts such marriages, a Muslim journalist added. The time then was around noon on 2.7.24, and the maulvi told them to return in the morning. When handed over the Aadhaar cards, the maulvi checked them and mentioned that the girl’s date of birth was 2008 and her age was short (minor). “I want to meet the girl and talk to her. There are no problems. Several such weddings (child marriages) are conducted here. Many weddings are held here,” replied the mullah (skull cap, long beard without a moustache). Rep: She is there in the car. How many people do you need for the wedding? Imam: We need one each from the girl’s and the boy’s side. Will the girl’s brother come? Rep: She has a brother, but he wouldn’t come. Imam: We need a main (sic) guardian. Anyone will do. We can do it (conduct the marriage). We will do it on Friday. Come after 8 am. Rep: What is the registration charge? Imam: 3,500. The imam then moves to the car and questions the girl (another undercover reporter). Where is your house in Bengal? Do not fear, tell me. There are no issues. Girl: Basarkhola. Imam: Do you agree to this marriage? Girl: Yes, I do. The visuals then show the marriage being conducted around 9.45 am on 5.7.24. The imam asks for the names of the groom and the man representing the girl. He tells someone to add the names to the mosque’s register over the phone. The imam then recites some Islamic prayers, and the marriage is done. He then asks for a phone number and promises to send the certificate (marriage) over WhatsApp. Later, the reporters received a marriage certificate that showed the girl’s age as 21 (DOB is June 2004). When the reporters contacted Shamudeen (the CPM leader), he denied that child marriages take place there (Noorul Huda). Such child marriages happen when extremist Islamist organisations want the legal age of marriage of women to be 18 from 21 years. Allegedly, the mosque indulged in these illegal activities even after locals protested. Those who intimated to the press about the primitive practice would not face the camera, fearing the accused mosque. Citizens demanded an investigation into all illegal transactions, including Nikah (Muslim marriage), by a central government agency. They also demanded to know what was happening inside the mosque. Through this news, the media has brought out a clear picture that child marriages are taking place freely in Kerala as well.
