🚨META’S SMART GLASSES ARE RECORDING YOU IN YOUR MOST INTIMATE MOMENTS.. AND SENDING ALL OF IT TO WORKERS IN KENYA WHO WATCH EVERY SECOND.. THEN META FIRED 1,108 OF THEM FOR TALKING ABOUT IT.. Swedish journalists discovered that footage from Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses is being sent to a facility in Nairobi, Kenya.. Where workers manually watch and label everything the glasses capture.. Not AI watching.. Humans watching.. Over 30 workers confirmed what they see every day.. People in intimate situations.. People on the toilet.. People undressing.. Credit card numbers.. Banking passwords.. Private messages on phone screens.. All completely visible.. One worker said.. “I don’t think they know, because if they knew they wouldn’t be recording”.. Meta marketed these glasses as “built for your privacy”.. “You’re in control of your data and content”.. The AI features cannot function without sending your footage to Meta’s servers.. There is no local option.. If you use the AI.. Your private life leaves your device.. Swedish journalists visited 10 retail stores.. Every single sales rep incorrectly told customers all data stays on the phone.. Not one knew the footage goes to Kenya.. Meta claims face-blurring protects identities.. Workers say it barely works.. Faces fully visible in low light, fast movement, complex backgrounds.. People in your bedroom.. Fully visible.. To strangers making $1.50 an hour.. Workers said the facility was “saturated with content that could trigger enormous scandals if leaked”.. So the company put them under constant camera surveillance and banned personal devices.. Workers surveilled to prevent them from leaking the surveillance footage they were watching.. Then the investigation went public.. Meta terminated the entire contract.. Claimed Sama “didn’t meet our standards”.. Sama fired back.. “At no point were we notified of any failure to meet those standards”.. 1,108 Kenyan workers.. Fired.. Six days notice.. Labor activists called it retaliation.. “The workers who trained the AI saw everything.. Owned nothing.. And lost their jobs the moment they spoke about it”.. 55% of these workers report clinical distress.. 52% meet thresholds for major depression.. They earn $1.50 an hour.. Meta made $56.3 billion last quarter.. The head of the Data Labelers Association said it best.. “It is African Intelligence powering European intelligence.. Which they are now calling Artificial Intelligence”.. Meta has sold 7 million of these glasses.. Targeting 10 million by year end.. A class-action lawsuit has been filed.. Kenya’s courts ruled Meta can be sued directly.. 200 former workers are pursuing a $1.6 billion claim.. 7 million cameras on 7 million faces.. Sending everything to the cheapest labor market they can find.. And they called it “built for your privacy.”

My brother Abhay would have been 30 today. We lost him at 23. We grew up in Delhi. Built Bottle Pop in London. His laugh is in the background of every memory worth keeping. 7 years on, I still feel his absence in every decision I make. He taught me more about courage and loyalty in those 23 years than most people learn in a lifetime. But the biggest lesson he left me with? Celebrate life. Every single day. So today, and every day: Happy birthday, EveryDay.

how Chinese employees feeling after this news...
Evan Luthra@EvanLuthra

THIS IS INSANE!!!🤯 China just made it ILLEGAL to fire a human worker and replace them with AI.. and the way they found out is insane.. a quality assurance supervisor named Zhou worked at an AI company in Hangzhou.. his job was verifying AI-generated content.. matching user queries with model outputs.. filtering hallucinations and illegal content.. he was literally training the AI to do his own job.. once the model got good enough.. the company told him they were moving him to a lower position.. with a 40% pay cut.. from 25,000 yuan to 15,000.. he refused.. they fired him.. he sued.. and won.. the Hangzhou court ruled that replacing a human with AI is not a valid reason to fire someone.. period.. their logic.. adopting AI is a voluntary business decision.. not an earthquake.. not a government shutdown.. not a force majeure event.. it's a choice the company made to save money.. and because it's a choice.. the company has to absorb the cost of that transition.. not dump it on the worker.. this wasn't a one-off ruling either.. in Beijing.. a map data collector named Liu spent over a decade manually collecting geographic data.. the company switched to AI-automated data collection.. eliminated his entire department.. fired him.. he sued.. won.. exact same reasoning.. AI adoption is a proactive business strategy.. not an unforeseeable external shock.. and here's what's happening in the background that makes these rulings so urgent.. unemployment for chinese workers aged 25 to 29 just hit a record 7.7%.. the highest since they started tracking that age group separately.. companies across china are literally forcing employees to document their daily workflows so AI models can learn to replace them.. workers are training their own replacements and they know it.. a 24-year-old engineer built an open-source tool called "Colleague.Skill" that scrapes your work chat history, emails, code commits, and documents.. and creates a digital clone of you that can do your exact job after you're gone.. he meant it as a dark joke.. it got 13,400 stars on GitHub in three weeks.. top 0.1% of all projects globally.. because it wasn't really a joke.. it was exactly what companies were already doing to their employees.. workers in Shanghai and Beijing told MIT Technology Review that management was actively coercing them to document everything specifically to train AI replacements.. china's response.. make it illegal.. the State Council launched the "AI Plus" initiative.. a ten-year plan that explicitly mandates AI must augment workers.. not replace them.. companies must use AI to upgrade existing roles.. not eliminate them.. by 2027.. smart devices and AI agents must reach 70% penetration.. by 2030.. over 90%.. but the growth has to create jobs.. not destroy them.. now compare this to the US.. in america.. at-will employment means your company can fire you and replace you with AI tomorrow.. no warning.. no severance negotiation.. no retraining obligation.. as long as they're not discriminating based on race, age, or disability.. it's perfectly legal.. there is no federal law protecting american workers from AI displacement.. none.. california proposed a bill requiring just 30 days notice before deploying AI that affects employment.. that's the most aggressive protection any US state has attempted.. china made it illegal to fire you.. america doesn't even require a heads up.. and here's the irony nobody is talking about.. china.. the country the west accuses of having no worker protections.. just gave its workers more protection from AI than any democracy on earth.. the question isn't whether AI will replace jobs.. it's whether your country will protect you when it does.

🚨ANTHROPIC'S FOUNDER JUST PREDICTED THAT AI WILL DOUBLE HUMAN LIFESPAN TO 150 YEARS.. CURE MOST CANCER.. AND ELIMINATE POVERTY.. ALL WITHIN 10 YEARS.. AND HE'S NOT EVEN THE OPTIMISTIC ONE.. Everyone thinks Dario Amodei is the guy who wants to slow AI down.. The cautious one.. The safety guy.. He just published an essay predicting what happens if AI goes right.. And it reads like science fiction.. Except he's dead serious.. And he has the credentials to back every word.. Here's what he thinks happens in the next 5 to 10 years.. Nearly all infectious disease.. Prevented or cured.. mRNA vaccines already showed us the path.. AI finishes the job.. Most cancer.. Eliminated.. Not just treated.. 95% or greater reduction in both deaths and new cases.. AI designs treatment regimens tailored to the individual genome of each tumor.. Something that's technically possible today but takes enormous human expertise to do.. AI scales it to everyone.. Alzheimer's.. Solved.. He thinks it's exactly the type of problem AI can crack.. Because it requires better measurement tools to isolate what's actually happening in the brain.. Once we understand it.. Prevention will probably be surprisingly simple.. Genetic disease.. Most of it preventable through improved embryo screening.. And curable in living people through safer descendants of CRISPR.. Most mental illness.. Cured.. Depression.. PTSD.. Addiction.. Schizophrenia.. He believes the answer is some combination of biochemistry and neural network-level problems that AI can untangle.. And here's the line that stopped me.. Human lifespan.. Doubled.. To 150 years.. He points out that life expectancy already doubled in the 20th century.. From 40 to 75.. So doubling it again is "on trend".. Drugs already exist that increase maximum lifespan in rats by 25 to 50%.. Some turtles already live 200 years.. We're clearly not at a biological ceiling.. He calls this the "compressed 21st century".. The idea that AI gives us 100 years of biological progress in 5 to 10 years.. But he doesn't stop at health.. He thinks AI could drive 20% annual GDP growth in the developing world.. Bringing sub-Saharan Africa to China's current GDP per capita within a decade.. He thinks AI could eradicate malaria not through treating millions of people individually.. But by releasing modified mosquitoes that block the disease at the source.. One centralized action instead of a million.. He thinks AI could make democracy structurally stronger.. Not through propaganda.. But by giving every citizen an AI that knows every law they're entitled to.. Every benefit they qualify for.. Every right they have.. And helps them actually access it.. He imagines AI that monitors judicial systems for bias.. AI that helps find common ground between opposing political views.. AI that makes government services actually work the way they're supposed to.. And he addresses the question everyone asks.. What happens to meaning when AI can do everything.. His answer.. Most people aren't the best in the world at anything right now.. And it doesn't bother them.. Meaning comes from relationships and connection.. Not economic productivity.. People will still pursue difficult challenges.. Still compete.. Still create.. The fact that an AI could theoretically do it better won't matter any more than it matters that someone somewhere is already better than you at every hobby you have.. But here's what makes this essay different from every other AI optimism piece.. Dario Amodei runs one of the three most powerful AI companies on earth.. He has a PhD in computational neuroscience.. He personally worked on mass spectrometry and neural probes.. He's not a pundit.. He's a scientist who happens to be a CEO.. And the same man who publicly says there's a 25% chance AI causes human extinction.. Is also saying that if we get it right.. We cure nearly every disease.. Double human lifespan.. Eliminate most poverty.. And fundamentally transform what it means to be alive.. Both things are true at the same time.. That's what makes this the most important essay anyone in AI has written this year.. He ends with this.. "I think many will be literally moved to tears by it".. He's talking about watching disease disappear.. Poverty dissolve.. Human potential unlock all at once.. Not in a century.. In a decade.. If we get it right.

🚨Over 100,000 tech workers lost their jobs in 2025. Block alone cut nearly half of its 10,000-person workforce in February 2026. And two economists just ran the math. This isn't a recession. It's the start of an economy where companies produce everything and nobody can afford to buy it. The paper is called "The AI Layoff Trap." Penn and Boston University, March 2, 2026. The conclusion is one of the most chilling sentences I've read in modern economics: "At the limit, firms automate their way to boundless productivity and zero demand." An economy that builds everything and sells it to nobody. Here's the loop they modeled. Company A fires 500 humans and replaces them with AI. Company B fires 700 to keep up. Company C fires 1,000 to survive. By the time Company D shows up, there's no choice left to make. Every CEO is rational, every spreadsheet checks out, and every single company is quietly firing its own customers. That's the part nobody wants to say out loud. The workers getting cut are the same people buying the products. When they get displaced faster than the economy can reabsorb them, spending dries up. Demand falls. Companies respond the only way they know how, which is cutting more cost, which means more layoffs, which means less spending, which means even more layoffs. The loop eats itself, and the model shows no natural exit. What makes the paper genuinely uncomfortable is the second half. The authors ran every "solution" currently sitting on policy desks through the model. Universal basic income, capital income taxes, worker equity, upskilling programs, even private bargaining between firms. Every one of them broke. Only a single intervention survived: a Pigouvian automation tax, where firms pay a per-task levy every time they swap a human for AI. The point of the tax isn't punishment, it's forcing companies to price in the demand they're destroying before they pull the trigger. Zero governments have implemented it. Zero major economies are even seriously discussing it. Jack Dorsey said the quiet part on the record after the Block cuts: "Within the next year, the majority of companies will reach the same conclusion." He wasn't issuing a warning, he was describing something already in motion. The most disturbing part is that nobody in this story is breaking the rules. Every player is responding rationally to the incentives in front of them. The system is working exactly as designed, which is precisely why it's collapsing. Rational behavior, executed at scale, simultaneously, with no mechanism to stop it. Two economists built the model, and the model only points one way. We are watching it happen and we are not taking the exit. Source: Hemenway Falk & Tsoukalas, "The AI Layoff Trap" (March 2026)

One MIT professor taught the math behind every modern AI model. For free. On YouTube. 20 million views. Zero ego. Gilbert Strang. 62 years at the same chalkboard. In 2002, MIT put courses online. Most professors panicked about becoming obsolete. Strang filmed every lecture and gave it away. He said please and thank you every class. For six decades. Paused mid-derivation to ask "am I ok?" in case anyone was lost. Never said "obviously" because he knew what that word does to a student one step behind. Every ML engineer, every quant, every self-taught coder who actually gets how AI works learned from him. Most never set foot on MIT's campus. May 2023. Final lecture. The auditorium was packed with strangers. When he finished the room stood and clapped. He looked genuinely confused. Smiled. Waved them off. Walked home. The course is still up. Free. One click away. Most people will never open it.
