Folks, please don't build bots that automatically reply to stuff on X, or use AI to reply. It makes this site annoying to use, I can barely keep up with the blocking. If you use AI to "tweak" your real replies, it will still smell like AI. Embrace typos and imperfect grammar.

Who builds AGI first? It's essentially a combination of who currently has frontier models, who has the resources to keep building out compute and power, who has the necessary research engine and who is bold enough to go for moonshot ideas. S++ instead of just S because they already have positive feedback loops. They might just run away with their lead. Google ahead of OpenAI and Anthropic, because they have the advantage everywhere (scale, compute, data, resources, multimodal, research) except for current text model capabilities. So in short timelines Google would likely lose to OpenAI or Anthropic, but in longer timelines, which I think are more likely, they can still outscale them. xAI and Meta in A tier because of resources (capital, compute, data), research and current capabilities. ByteDance, Alibaba and DeepSeek in B tier, because they have the resources (less than xAI, Meta, Nvidia, Microsoft) and the research and are bold enough to execute (Nvidia and Microsoft lack this). Microsoft and Nvidia in C tier, mostly for the bad short term timelines (market crashes, Microsoft could absorb OpenAI) and because of their compute and capital in long timelines. Baidu and Tencent in D tier also simply because of their capital in long timelines. I put all the smaller chinese labs in E tier (although i love my kimi, z-ai, minimax and stepfun bros), because they are too small and lack the research. It would take a miracle research breakthrough that can compensate a 10-100x compute disadvantage. In F tier all the other labs that lack the willingness, research, resources, or that don't even train models anymore (not a serious tier). You could fight about Mistral or Cohere having a shot, but they lack ambition. They are going for the safe business route.

OpenClaw is FREE. But people are selling the OpenClaw wrapper. And the worst part is that people are buying their subscriptions. It just takes 10–15 minutes to set it up. People are too lazy to paste some commands in their terminal.

@LeilaHormozi This is survivorship bias. Pioneers and innovators are the lucky ones selected from countless people who held firmly to their beliefs.

Most people would rather die on a hill than admit they picked the wrong hill. They dig in. They lawyer up their position. They make it about PRIDE and SELF ESTEEM. But here's what I've noticed about the sharpest people I know: they don't cling to being right. They cling to getting IT right.

If consumers cannot generate positive returns by purchasing AI services, AI will never fully replace humans. And if AI truly replaces humans, consumers will no longer be able to generate returns through AI.

AI professionals are more easily replaceable than janitors.

@levelsio They will continue to exist, but in different forms, such as supervising nurse robots, or humans providing added value services where people pay more for human + AI care.

Obviously lots of jobs will remain post-AGI for awhile like: - plumber - electrician - construction - nurse - caretaker etc That is until humanoid robots that run on AI takeover those too (10-20 years?)

@aaronburnett The Moon would establish a foothold beyond Earth quickly, to protect life against risk of a natural or manmade disaster on Earth. We would continue to launch directly from Earth to Mars while possible, rather than Moon to Mars, as fuel is relatively scarce on the Moon.
