It’s outrageous that after getting the first dose of the vaccine, Canadians have to wait 4 months to get the second one! This pretty much makes the first shot near ineffective and is all done to pump up our vaccination numbers. @JustinTrudeau do better! #EM203Robin

One year ago, we marked the first known death caused by COVID-19 in Canada - and three days later, the disease was declared a global pandemic. In the year since, far too many lives have been lost across the country - and even more have been changed forever.

A very pressing problem I have identified is the deterioration of student mental health caused by online learning. With no physical student interaction or a constant change of scenery, online classes are causing more harm than they are good.

Now more than ever it is imperative to be familiar with digital literacy. Considering everything has taken a shift to an online atmosphere (school, work, shopping, etc) having the ability to adapt to a digital environment is crucial to our success during these times #EM203Robin

@EM203avance Great post Avery 👏. Multi-media is definitely a more efficient way to learn as opposed to a single media. I can say firsthand that I’ve noticed I take in more information from a video when the subtitles are on. It really helps to read along.

After 3 weeks of #EM203Robin I learned a lot about learning in the digital age! One thing specifically being how multi-media such as text, video and audio together provide a better understanding of a topic as opposed to single media as everyone learns through different skills.

@NewbiggingJake I’m curious as to how they came to this conclusion, would you be able to give some insight?

Digital Natives are known for being tech-savvy, however, a study by Radio Canada International shows that students are less likely to use social media and the internet in creative ways, compared to their parents. #EM203Robin

Everyone learns differently depending on their own learning preferences. Digital literacy is the ability to navigate and learn in a digital environment. #EM203Robin
