USA. Summer. It is 95 degrees outside, and I am shivering inside a sandwich shop. I have discovered how Americans forge strong souls. Outside, the sun is trying to kill everyone. Inside this small restaurant, it is winter. My breath does not fog, but it is thinking about it. A man near me is eating a cold sandwich while wearing a jacket. In summer. Indoors. In Japan we would simply turn it down. Americans do not turn it down. And now I understand them better than they understand themselves. This cold is not an accident. This cold is a gift. The owner has built, inside his shop, a second season. He invites you in from the brutal heat and hands you the one thing the sun has denied you all day: a reason to be cold. To endure it is to be tempered. You walk in soft and sweating. You walk out sharp and clear, a slightly stronger person than you were. So I did not complain. I removed my outer layer and offered it to the woman at the next table, who was hugging herself. She said, "Oh, no, I'm fine, thank you." She was not fine. Her lips were blue. But she, too, understood the training. She would not break first. I respected her deeply. The owner asked if everything was okay. "It is perfect," I said, through my teeth, which were chattering. "Thank you for the winter." He said, "...I can turn the AC down if you want?" I told him no. A man does not ask the mountain to be shorter. I stayed two hours. I ordered a hot coffee to survive. Then a second one, to hold. By the end I could no longer feel my hands, but my spirit had never been clearer. So now, on the hottest days, I seek out the coldest rooms. I sit. I shiver. I sharpen. And when I finally step back out into the summer heat, and it wraps around me like a warm bath, I feel it. Reborn. A man who has survived the winter, in August, indoors, for the price of a sandwich.

sulfur dust. Tractor Supply. Put a cup in an old sock. Tie sock off and beat your clothes and shoes and socks with it. To create a tick-free area, use sulfur dust in a shaker bottle. Hold close to ground and shake. You will see the ticks leave. No joke. Been using this method since 1963 when fishing in tick infested areas.

This trend is similar, imo. I don't think everyone getting taller is just about diet (which has gotten both better and worse along the x-axis) or sexual selection. Humans are changing, as we always have. The interesting, and perhaps terrifying (should I stop talking about this? No one else does, so if I shut my mouth we are putting a lid on this pretty tightly. I am very open to the argument that this is better left unexplored) fact is that we do not have to be passive observers in this slow, gradual process of evolution. It is modulated by electrical parameters! This is intuitively the archetype for us, that a lightning strike would make something "level up" if it hits just right. It super-charges the anime character or levels up the Bionicle™ or whatever. And it's kind of how it does seem to work, if you look up the story of the Ebner effect, where strong electrical fields during germination of seeds and eggs will induce strong changes to the plant or animal, often seemingly returning to an historical predecessor, i e exactly the equivalent of bird to dinosaur, and so on. Here's something new for you, never said before; This evolutionary Ebner effect can be super-powered to arbitrary levels by using negatively charged water on top of the strong electrical field. If you are good at charging water (the definition of a wizard.) then setting up the electrical field is a piece of cake for you. Just place insulated (plastic) foil on each side of whatever you want to Ebner affect; seeds being germinated, eggs.. Air gap between seed and the foil on each side, short air gap to negative side and longer air gap to positive side. You can use the mosquito zapper for this, put tape over the power button and leave it on for however long you want. So, you'd charge water (see wizard.talk how to do that) and then let the seeds soak in that water while applying the strong electrical field for a while. A lot of work? Maybe an hour. That's pretty impressive ROI to literally make a new type of plant that has not existed for thousands of years, if ever. You'd get to name your new plant, too.
