Danny Ryan on why Wall Street cares about decentralization Etherealize co-founder and a key architect behind Ethereum’s transition to proof-of-stake is asked if Wall Street institutions care about “decentralization.” “That’s not the right word,” Danny replies. “They care about counterparty risk.” He explains: “They care about — in a transaction or a particular market — who can screw me over? And if the infrastructure is decentralized, nobody can turn it off, and their transactions will execute as intended . . . [that’s an] elimination of counterparty risk. That’s the operative lens of how they view the world, and if you explain how these systems work to them — and the difference between Ethereum and alternatives — they’re like, ‘Oh yeah, we do love decentralization because we have risk models and this helps us on our risk model.’” Danny jokes: “I’ve been looking for a customer of decentralization other than the cypherpunks I hung out with for the past 8 years, and I found it on Wall Street.” As long as you speak the right language and frame it the right way, Ethereum’s decentralization is deeply important to Wall Street institutions.

I want 2026 to be different. I want to experiment more, I want to show you more photos and videos of what I’ve been working on.
I want 2026 to be the year where I am no longer afraid to say what I think or think that I am not good enough. I build my own project because I couldn’t find a job and I saw an opportunity in the market. And the over 500 people that joined my hacks can testify on that.
Was it perfect? No - and I am aware of all the flows, but I am also well aware of the impact we had and the over 30 k we shared in prizes.
Last I spoke to @0xAYoo, he said I am insane for running an event by myself. And while I mostly did, I did have helpers here and there (which most times made things easier).
But honestly, if showing I can build something with “no previous experience”, I don’t know how else I can prove to others and myself that I am good enough to get on any challenge. Cause that’s the thing about me.
I am no longer afraid, and we as marketers should unite!
Unite in being honest with each other, with helping each other, with supporting each other.
This year, you will see more hacks, you will see more of me on stages around the world and more of me building in public.
